vinyl fantasy 2
hey,
did anyone else checkout vinyl fantasy II in edmonton? opinions? i really enjoyed dj irene's set. had some good trance tunes mixed into the set.
I was there. It was amazing. Great music.
Orange Peel was great, DJ Irene was awesome (except for Sandstorm at the end,) but Ingo was amazing. I danced non stop for 2 hrs. Needless to say I spent most of my time upstairs but, I did check out the other rooms frequently. Anthony Donahue, Tiff-Slip, Tripswitch and Tryptamine were quite memorable.
Overall, a great party and a great vibe. Unfortunately I found that there were too many people for the venue. It was annoying in the main room with so many standing around and getting in the way.
Probably one of the best parties I've been to recently.
personally i wasn't too impressed
i'm kinda tired of the polish hall...that's like the bazillionth party there now. and so i really didn't feel like hanging out upstairs (too crowded...as always at polish hall)
roland the bastard, five alive did an awesome set as did neil and tryptomene, that is till neil broke the equipment again (haha j/k...last time neil played that room he had the same problems)
honestly, if i'd known ferry was going to be in cowtown earlier, i woulda save my money to see mr. corsten
hopefully w'm'f will be better (i always enjoyed the warm'n'fuzzies)
Punkass, the Polish Hall is - besides the Sportex - pretty much the only venue available right now that can support a party of that size. The party was a great success IMO, much respect to Paul and the Mayhem crew for pulling off this one despite some rather harsh situations throughout the night (I'm not really at liberty to comment what happened - that was the reason why the lights were turned on at one point though). The headliners didn't exactly interest me too much, Orange Peel did play a remarkable set though. Most of the action was downstairs, with Rowland and Levi pulling a wicked tagteam set (as expected), Kristoff rocking the third room with vicious hardtrance, and Neil vs Rob Tryptomene banging out some techno and blowing the breakers in the process =) (hehe, Neil looks wicked with his beard). Great night, overall.
Look out for Mardi Gras on March 02 and then Warm'n Fuzzy 3 on March 30. The HB crew will most definitely make this a memorable night.
Irene ripped it hard...good tunes throught the nite...except for the polish hall is nasty..couldnt really enjoy myself cuz that place is a fuckin sty
hey, i actually like it for catharsis, but now i'm really sick of it. a friend of mine says his fave place was mayfield trade centre. he's always bragging that some rooms looked into others and stuff. the bastard
i really like the old sportcheck for w'n'f, that was great, now that was a chill room of all chill rooms
Yeah it's just too bad that Mayfield and the old Sportcheck building can't be used for parties anymore (due to city regulations and the lack of cooperation from the owners) so there isn't much that can be done about the venues unfortunately.
Yeah, that really sucks.
I'm quite new to the scene and I sort of get the feeling that I just missed out.
well, supposedly nexus screwed up any chance of holding anymore parties at mayfield (apparently they didn't clean up their mess or something, dunno, just heresay) and the old sportcheck doesn't have any sprinkler systems so that's kinda of a fire code violation
oh well
