Headphone Recommendations

Can someone recommend some headphones around $50-60? I was just starting to think that it was possible to have cheap headphones that didn't break on you until my Sennheiser 202's lost hearing on one side. I find myself spending far too much money on cheap headphones($25 or less) as they break continuously when I could just buy a decent pair and keep them for awhile. I just need something durable, and almost gauranteed to not break. Anyone help me out?

The Sony MDR-V700DJ Headphone is really good, but they cost 100 to 120 bucks. I think the're worth the money though. I spin, and I've had mine for the last 3 years. Still working great.

Then why recommend them? He clearly said 50-60, not 100-120.

Personally I was going to recommend the Sennheiser HD555 for general awesomeness before I saw the price limit.

I like how you criticize him for making a recommendation, but then you go on and make a recommendation of your own that still doesn't fit his price limit.

That's because I like irony.

On a serious note: do you need circumaural or will supraaural do? You can't really get good circums for that price.

i wouldn't recommend the MDR-V700DJ, as they're notorious for cracking. but i don't have any recommendations in that price range either.

Sony MDR-V6. They sound excellent, and are a good price too.

Get some reconditioned V6's.

The best $55 you'll ever spend.

Is it possible to buy the repairmaster thing after ive purchased them?

Posted by Rebel Brown on Mar-19-2006 22:28:

DO IT!

Edit - Haven't got a clue about the repairmaster thing, I bought mine from new as that site doesn't ship to the UK.

Needless to say, I have the headphones on my head right now.

lol
+1

Posted by Kakoroto on Mar-19-2006 22:40:

Well because they are refurbished, I only get 90 days to return them if they break. Repairmaster extends it to 1 year for an extra $15... From what I have seen though, alot of people have gone years without them breaking so I don't know if its worth droping the extra $.

Posted by Rebel Brown on Mar-19-2006 23:10:

I've never heard of a pair breaking.

They are made pretty robustly, they don't have plastic swivel cups which seem to be the downfall of most other headphones when breaking is concerned.

Personally, I wouldn't spend the extra $15 on it, but at the end of day it's your your decision.

P.S. Buy them

Smile Tongue

OK I bought em! Should be here in about 3 days hopefully. Thanks for the help.

I had to read all the reviews on amazon first just to make sure everyone wasn't talking out of their ass.
