Rule #1: Don't give yourself a DJ name until you know how to DJ.

Posted by dark_Omens on Mar-20-2006 00:18:

Start out by reading all the stickied threads at the top of this forum. After you do that, get used to using the search function which is located in the top right corner of the forum. Almost every question that you have, someone else has had it before. If you can't find it on TA, try googling it. If you still do not know, then post a thread about it.

Sometimes I think posts like these are people on here just trying to get the boards stirred up and play a joke.

Anyways, just use the search function to see if you can answer some questions that way. If you can't find anything, come back here and ask.

The question you asked is too broad, and has been asked a billion times before. But don't let the trance addict regulars scare you away.

the basics of dj'ing, play one song after the other, if you can do that you've got it made!

this thread is like typing "hack a bank" into a command line and hitting enter

There is no simple answer to your question "how do I become a good dj?"

Your question makes it sound like you just want people to see you as a good dj just for the image.. it makes it seem like you don't really even care about the music. DJ's become 'good' because they have a love for their music and they do their own thing, this is what gets them recognized (the actual quality of their music has a role in this obviously).

If you do lots of research and reading and listening, you will have a better understanding of what it takes to become a "good" dj.

Do you have turntables yet? Do you know what a mixer is?

have a look at this website... don't be impatient, read the articles on it:

Good luck in your quest to become a good dj, and with questions like this, good luck on these forums! =)

nice metaphore,

As for being a dj, you shouldn't ask that on a forum.
Instead use google and find out urself.
You're like a little kid that wants to become a pilot; you have no idea what being a pilot means, you only imagine urself looking good with the hat, cruising the air.
You should read what is it is to be a dj be4 you get into it.
but here's a site that helped me a bit when I started off
