Banned South Park Episode

South Park has gotten away with alot of shit... how come this one was banned? Scientology deserves all the criticism it gets!

I saw it on TV, it's the coming out of the closet one. It wasn't banned.

Ok, after I watched this, I became more curious about scientology. So I went and googled it, and this is what my first hit was:

I am having a hard time deciphering from this site what they believe exactly.
Anyway, there is a "free personality" test on the website. I was going to take it, but it required my address and whatever, which I was reluctant to give. So instead I gave a fake name and address, and when I clicked next, it showed a list of all the "Churches of Scientology" closest to me, and when I clicked one, it told me that my "results" would be sent to that church. WTF!!

i think Scientology is a religion where you give money and they forgive you for your sins

What is the main idea behind Dianetics?
L. Ron Hubbard described his main theories in Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, published in 1950. He said that moments of unconcious pain - either physical or emotional - create "engrams", or lasting errors in our thinking processes. According to Hubbard, these engrams can be created while in the womb - or even in a past life. He said these engrams were the root of all kinds of problems, from physical pains and illnesses to acting in counterproductive ways. He said they could be erased by reliving the incident in auditing sessions. Once you've erased all your engrams, you're Clear.
What causes an engram?
For example, if your mother ran into a table while pregnant with you, and exclaimed, "I'm so clumsy!", you could experience a conviction that you're clumsy if you heard your mother say that after you were born - or, hearing her say that could restimulate the pain of hitting the table, giving you a headache or similar psychosomatic pain. In Dianetics, Hubbard described extensive injuries caused by attempted abortions - including puncturing the skull of a fetus - as well as injuries caused by domestic violence

Yes, it did air...but Tom Cruise just did a movie with Paramount, who is connected to Comedy Central in some way, and he said that if they keep showing this episode of South Park then he will refuse to promote the movie or something along those lines.

AV Club: They did just do an episode that made fun of your religion, Scientology. Did that bother you? Hayes: Well, I talked to Matt [Stone] and Trey [Parker] about that. They didn't let me know until it was done. I said, 'Guys, you have it all wrong. We're not like that. I know that's your thing, but get your information correct, because somebody might believe that [expletive], you know?' But I understand what they're doing. I told them to take a couple of Scientology courses and understand what we do. [Laughs.] The truth is, Hayes has a sly sense of humor and loves everything about "South Park." Of course, no one would have cared one way or another if �Trapped� simply had aired on schedule. Of course, no one could blame Cruise, John Travolta or even R&B singer R. Kelly for being upset about the episode. They are poked fun at mercilessly. In the episode, Stan, one of the "South Park" characters, is solicited into Scientology. He gives them $240 and takes an EMeter test. This convinces the higher-ups that Stan is the reincarnation of the group�s founder, L. Ron Hubbard. That would be bad enough, wouldn�t it? But Cruise visits Stan in his bedroom and winds up hiding in his closet when Stan tells him he�s not the greatest actor. Thus is born the line �Tom Cruise won�t come out of the closet.� It�s repeated dozens of times. Travolta soon joins Cruise in Stan�s closet. He won�t come out, either. And when they do, there is the ecstatic announcement that they�ve �come out of the closet.� You get the picture. But nothing in �Trapped in the Closet� is any worse than anything "South Park" creators Stone and Parker have done before.
