CUBASE - SAMPLE HELP!!! please:)
i have used cubase for over a year and a half. im using sl2.0. i couldnt find the answer on the search..
please could someone tell me how i can drag and drop single kick samples...?
since day one i have been using groups of 4 kicks because it is like cubase wont allow you to insert a single kick sample followed by another one.. you need to have a group of four kicks in one sample @ say 138bpm, and then set the tempo to 138bpm and they fit.. its like the smallest space is a bar..
thanks in advance!
I'm sure your user's manual should answer that question...
Why not just use Linplug RMIV or NI Battery for your kicks and maybe other percussion samples instead of dragging those samples directly into the sequencer.
Anyway, might be something to do with the snap. Try setting it on smaller steps.

where about are they?
Heya richg101,
you'll have to set the grid type to Beat (or Use quantize). That way you can place them behind eachother. You probably have it set to Bar. You can find the option on the top of the sequencer. PM me if you can't figure it out and I'll guide you
.

Are you just dragging the samples onto the sequencer instead of using a drum machine or sampler?
He is, that's why I suggested RMIV or Battery in my first post

do you have battery rich?
There's nothing wrong making beats on audio tracks. Actually as a benefit, it leaves out the sampler engine.
And rich, there's 2 slots on top of the arrange called "Grid Type" and "Quantize Type". Set the Grid Type to "beat" or "use quantize" (which uses the setting on the latter slot).
Believe there's a drum editor for the LM-4 not to sure on the LM-7 tho. You could still edit its preset files by hand. for example open up the 909 one with a text editor and you will see the sample dir, file and names.
some other alternatives (free)

or this one made for Computer Music by Muon

becareful with Muon tho, the guy got a lot of shit a few years ago for releasing a vst (think it was is free 303 clone) that would scan your folder and delete anything it considered as being warez
