Nymphomaniac

I got a question. A nymphomaniac is a woman with excessive sexual desire but what is the equivalent word for a man? Or is this word based on the double standard that its OK for a man to be sexually promiscuous but not a woman? I know of a guy who I think is a nymphomaniac but I need a word for him but women seem to have monopoly on this vocab (ie nymphomaniac, whore, slut...). Are there any words out there for men acting this way?

in most cases its used in context to men however youre right, it isnt gender specific, although ive never heard a women being called a chauvinist...feminist if anything.

People could say "chauvinist female", and it would have the same meaning as chauvinist male...just...for women

the word "nymphomaniac" is used specifically to describe females who have a higher-than normal libido and obsession with sex... not men. hence why IGK started this thread, he was looking for a male version of "nymphomania"
