FAO: Ibiza vets

I've read some reviews and what not of Ibiza from a few people on this forum. We've booked our flights, and I believe my friend just booked an apt tonight. We're going to August 6-13th. I know it's probably not the best time of the year, but those are the dates we had to work with. Basically all I want to know is what do I need down there? How much money? Any important info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

have you read this yet? http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=257748

it might help you!

if you drink and consume other substances i would say $200 a day for everything (food, travel, club admission, shopping, drink, etc) should suffice.

This site will pretty much answer all your questions. It's impossible to predict YOUR spending habits. Just be glad the euro is only 1.21 over the $ ATM.

I got tons of helpful into from the links. I guess the main thing was finding out how much the "average" person spent. Now that I have that covered, what should I expect?

mayhem.

I was in ibiza last summer and had a really great time. The only thing that was the most challenging was getting cabs. Where ever you are going to party leave really early and have dinner or something and chill. Sometimes it took us up to 1 hour to find a taxi that was not full. Be aware that there are some people that drive around and will give you a ride but they are not taxi drivers always negotiate a price before everyone steps in the car. I think we had half rouge taxi drivers and half legitimate (also never by anything from the fake driversthey will always try to sell you stuff. It will mostly likely be fake.) After you get over the transportation hurdle everything else is a easy. Have a great time

don't take taxis, rent cars.

example: one way from san antonio to amnesia: 35 euros

renting a car: 35 euros per day.

u do the math.

Posted by PvDoBseSSioN on Mar-21-2006 00:29:

i spent 1200 in 5 days and it only got me to the clubs and back, with maybe 2 drinks a night(water most of the time)....

club prices: 40-60+
drinks: 16+
water: 8
taxi to club: 20-25+
discobus back from amnesia: 2.50 i think

........... im me if u have any other questions

Awesome...this is exactly what I was looking for. I think we're staying @ Apartment Bossa Mar in Playa D'En Bossa.

i might rent a scooter this year

Posted by houseadddict on Mar-21-2006 02:35:

if you rent a car be very careful. It might be the cheap way too go but the roads are like country roads and there are a lot of round-a-bouts to get lost on... especially going to amnesia and Privilege . Also, you have to worry about police... I have heard some "horror" stories about people getting busted driving over there... the police really try to crack down on messed up drivers and have stiffer penalties than the US when it comes to this.

or, to sum up:

1> don't be an asshat
2> do buy a map

3> NEVER take an illegal taxi (a.k.a some drunk ass leaving the club and trying to get a little money by driving u home)

Mauro Picotto present
Meganite Ibiza 2006
7th June 13th September
Every Wednesday @ SUPERCLUB Privilege

After two successful summers in Ibiza, Italian superstar DJ Mauro Picotto will be back at the Superclub Privilege to complete his hat trick of mid-week Meganite sessions at the Ibizan institution.

Once again Mauro will be converting the clubs cavernous confines into an intimate haven of hot, sun-drenched electronica, this year with the assistance of two new residents. Misstress Barbara brings her techy, minimal sound to the decks after guest appearances last year. Meanwhile fellow Italian techno-don Marco Carola also joins proceedings, bringing years of experience wowing crowds with his three deck mixing.

For Mauro, the night in Ibiza is all about the music, and while sex shows and circuses might be what makes headlines, Meganite is dedicated to presenting quality music in beautiful surroundings. Mauros plan to move the clubs sound system from the ceiling down to floor level, in order to create a better aural experience for punters, is the proof. This, alongside plans for a floating VIP area that will allow people to get up close and personal with the DJs, and the likes of Phil Kieran, Ben Sims, Anderson Noise, Gabry Fasano and Riccardo Ferri Live all lined up as future guests plus more TBA, means that Meganite looks set to be the Wednesday night party on the white isle.

I honestly couldnt pick the best night from last year, because they were all amazing, he smiles. Id be happy to repeat that success, but this year I want even more people talking about Meganite and I think Ive got the perfect team to help make that happen. Ive also got a couple of big surprises planned, but youll just have to wait and see what will happen

From the sounds of it, taxis are too expensive. It would be a bad idea to rent a car, seeing as I'll be inebriated through out my trip. What about public transportation?
