On a related note: this is how my first laundering experience went.

I was in Gr 5. Bought a new pair of black tights (they were soooo in at the time, especially when you wore socks over them... lol), only wore them once or twice. Decided to wash them with some other darks (for some strange reason). Added bleach because that's what i *thought* you were supposed to do... Nevertheless, I ruined them, learned my lesson the hard way and my mom never let me near the washing machine for a while... but I think that was a good thing
