the site completey screws up on me every freakign time I try to search or add anything... is it always like this or am I catching some bad luck here? Cause if its always like this... I dont see how you digital DJs deal with this shit. If this was a real store I'd NEVER shop there again.

It did the same thing to me late last week! It was the first time it had done something like that but, I agree, it was VERY frustrating. I ended up having to do 2 transactions because it would not add one track to my existing order. I've bought about 100 tracks there in the last 3 months or so and this was the first time it's been shitty, hopefully not to continue.

yeah I'd say the majority (75%) of what I poked around in there is old stuff... like at least a year or more old. I mean I saw tracks in there labled new releases (like month of march new releases) that I've had since like late 04

When they say new they don't actually mean new unless it is a promo. What they mean is that it is new to the site because they get more and more labels all the time.

meh. I guess. Great idea, they just need to get the hot shit quicker!

It is a bit misleading.

Its right before wmc, so selection is scarce... after miami, say in april, the new releases will flow...

Including (shamless plug) my label, Slow Motion Music... We'll be releasing two tracks with two remixes We'll also be on www.resonantvibes.com

Beatport is usually on top of their shit.

well I'm well stocked through my various pools and whatnot, but I just wanted to see what all the beatport hub-bub was about seeing as how I've never used em before. But I'll give em another chance after WMC

ive never had a problem with them and i have used them since they opened their doors (virtually speaking). a lot of other people share your pain though. i dont know why it works well with some and crappy with others.

I've always had a good experience with Beatport. Granted, you have promo access so its not gonna be as current.

For guys like me its a godsend.

Well I know most peeps dont have acess to the promo stuff. but what I meant was like there were full releases that I had ordered for the shop when I was over at chemistry in like the last few months of 04 and they were shown as new releases there.

That messes with me too. I'm not a "new track" snob by any means but it kinda bothers me when I see tracks with current release dates, only to find on discogs that they're from 2002.

yeah I mean I'm a lil bit of a new track snob but hey a good track is good track. but hey you should always have 1 or 2 good throwbacks in a set imo or maybe NEW remixes of an old classic.

yeah I always verify with discogs.com on which tracks are actually new or not. I've personally never had any issues ordering from beatport but it could be all subjectiv. Who knows. Its a great site to find the kinda prog/electro house I've been playing, however less than 3% of the new trance tracks they have are worth a damn so I need alternatives.
