Brian Eno

so i was searching the web about 'Adagio for Strings' and it's relation to being the '9/11 theme song' or something like that .. i heard rumors it was, but it seems there are many songs labeled 'the 9/11 theme song'...

anyways .. back to topic, i ran into the name Brian Eno, who i didn't know until now is an accomplished music producer since the 70s, and is considered the innovators of ambient music ..

and here's some interesting trivia ..

he invented the "slow version intro WAV" for Windows 95 OS ...

some more facts about him

i guess we should all know him from Brian Eno - An Ascent (Leama and Moor mix)

link here

wow .. look what searching on the web does to your knowledge ?!?!?

the original score for Brian Eno's Ascent (an ending) was in the 'Traffic : the movie' soundtrack ..

interesting. i don't even remember the song being in the movie.

Ascent is quite old (1983). It was hacked to pieces by Leama & Moor, but I suppose it's good people are getting exposure to his genius via the remix.

Yeah he's been around the block a couple times... Theres a music book at my school and under "electronica", they seem to only talk about him...

Deserves respect for singlehandedly creating a genre, if for nothing else (and there is plenty else, mind you). It's a shame the majority of this board knows more about Leama and Moor than Brian Eno.

Brian Eno was one of the founding members of "Roxy Music." He was basically the soundman that they moved onstage.

Give a listen to the first couple of "Roxy" releases where he is featured. Those disk are work it just for the album art alone. Check out the first release that opens up and there is a picture of Eno with glitter on his face.

Eno then put out a series of cd of various themes on Island Records. They went from electronic progressive pop to ambient.

He also did several collaborations with David Bowie. The most famous being "Low" and "Heroes."

Brian Eno also produced the first "Devo" cd.

I know he did extensive work with U2 but I am not a fan of the group so I am not the one to ask about that.

yup, eno produced the best three U2 albums (joshua tree, unforgetable fire and achtung baby) the guy's a genious

U2 died after achtung baby, their new stuff is crap compared to those albums

i think he also produced 1 or 2 songs on the newest U2 album
