Red Carpet - Alright

This has got to be one of the most unabashedly feel-good house records I've ever heard, even if it carries a commercial streak. I'm really surprised it didn't hit as high as some other mainfloor house hits of the past two years, and that I hadn't heard it until the end of last year.

Check it if you haven't, especially in anticipation of summer.

Heard it back in 2003 and really liked the Den Hetrix & Raffa Remix.

Yep, thats a better remix, but overall the tune has a great feeling.

If I'm not mistaken, Den Hetrix & Raffa is the original.

Yeah, Erick Morillo dropped this unexpectedly at the peak of his set at Godskitchen (2005) and it truly united the whole crowd - it's probably my most memorable clubbing moment.

Yes, the Morillo set on new Space Terrace from Aug 05 as well.

This song has been out for awhile, but really didn't catch on until last year for some reason. One of my favo house tunes of all-time. Check out the Brad Carter remix.. the best one!

Love this track. I listened to it often while studying for finals and it always put me in a better mood.

Tiesto dropped on GDJB back in March of 2004

but it really took off when Roger Sanchez dropped it on the Sapce Terrace at WMC 05

morillo played the brad carter remix in feb 06 at pacha nyc
expect to hear it in ibiza this summer (the brad carter remix) at least at subliminal sessions

Liked it at first, but it gets boring pretty fast. Good to have though, cause at the right moment it can be pretty huge.

Posted by andreas1999 on Mar-24-2006 16:06:

i liked the vocals and those chords they use but the production could have been much better. me and a friend did a small club remix for fun.

red_carpet_-_alright_(orkan_and_teemu_brighter_day_mix)-clip.mp3

but it would be cool to do a new house remix of it for 2006.

that song had huge success in the clubs and by no means is a sleeper.Actually it has been overplayed here.

Posted by Candeeman on Mar-24-2006 21:54:

Great tune....It's also on Morillo's Subliminal Sessions 9.

It came out circa 2003. No way does it need a "200x Remix" let alone this soon. The fact that it's just now getting popular, three years after it was produced, proves that it has lasting value and is very playable today as is.

i beg to differ, sometimes it just takes songs awhile to catch on

took discopolis by kris menance and likelike about a year or that free form five no more conversations (mylo mix) about 6 months till people started playing it

lasting ability? maybe but not necessarily

It still means that the sound it had in 2003 is playable and successful three years later, if it's catching on now and everyone loves it. If that's the case then it doesn't need a "2006 Remix."

you can play a great song 12 years later and it will work perfectly

mate, he said it would be cool for him to do one. whether or not YOU need one doesnt matter. i think a house remix from andreas would be shit hot.

no wonder the scene isnt going anywhere. people arent prepared to accept change. believe it or not, music changes alot in a couple of years. or at least it SHOULD...

Because, for the most part, 200x remixes are produced so shoddily that they come off as quick cash-ins on something that's already famous. Produce 200x remixes that change my opinion, and I wont have a problem.

However, that's a whole different discussion for a whole different thread. This doesn't need to be one of those threads.

Pure cheese.

But it if you accept it as that then it has its merits.
