Thumbs up REVIEW: Coldplay ACC Wed. Mar 22

Well, I almost always end up grabbing tickets for concerts on the day of the event, and this again, was not a bad move. (After they set up the stage they release non-obstructed seats in view of the stage.)

The seats were "rear-view" so I got a great view of Chris Martin's ass at the piano, and we were over the drum kit. He came and played and sang to the left of the stage frequently, and they were taping the show for a future DVD release, so there were cameras all over the place. I actually feel bad for the people with "front row" seats because of a HUGE barricade between the stage and that row, in fact the first few rows looked quite obstructed. We couldn't see the large monitor wall at all, but since we were there for the music it was all ok with us. They played all of their hits, did one encore and the last song was "fix you". What musicianship! They are just soooooo good!

We sat next to this outrageous couple and ended up going to the Loose Moose afterwards and my intern from Vancouver is a bartender there and so he ended up buying us two pitchers and two rounds of shots.

So I'm at work, likely still drunk, and absolutley delighted that I got to see Coldplay.

I had seats in 116 row 5 it was kinda side view but like muzzybear said he came by the lil runway stage a few times and sang a few songs there too...

loved the BIG yellow balloons filled with confetti! ACC lighting looked great too....the energy was just ok in the beginning but it got MUCH better towards the end....and yes i CAN'T WAIT to see the DVD!!!

my best friend was going mental to TALK....I think she almsot had a heart attack lol....

p.s CHRIS MARTIN took off his shirt on stage and changed into another one hahahaha that was a lil crazy!

He was good. Boring compared to Coldplay, but good. My hubby was all excited to see him. He sang that new track "lucky man" and did Bitter Sweet Sympathy.

He made some complaint about him and his wife and two kids being checked in customs in Cincinatti, and I'm thinking, you lucky rock-star bastard you get to travel with your wife and kids to play songs in front of thousands of people and you bitch about getting checked at customs! The nerve. The nerve of the former lead singer of the Verve.

"Coldplay are not quitting. They are on the road until July, when their 16 month X&Y World Tour ends. They will then continue working on new material."

So, how was the concert?
I've seen them live once, a few years ago at the Molson Amphitheatre, but I was working so it wasn't the same. Unbelievable, nonetheless.

Ya. I didn't think they were splitting up...just taking a break to kinda be with their families and such.

He said "it's going to be a while before you see us again."

He didn't say "you will never see us again."

He also thanked his wife last night for letting him tour.

I thought that was very thoughtful of him. (He has to ask permission????!!!)

My cousin had some ridiculously close seat last night (omigod she loves Chris Martin) and her MSN name now is "He sweated on me!". heh.
