Kicked out of party/frat

About 2 weeks b4 spring break I accepted a bid at a fraternity here on campus. I accepted bc I really love their parties and I am very good friends with a few brothers there. About 4 days later I realized that it was a bad decision and left. In the following week I spoke to some brothers and they said everything was OK and I was still cool in their eyes.

Tonight, I went to a party at said frat, and about 45 minutes after I got there I was pulled aside, told that what I did was equivalent to them "giving you a hand-job, you saying you love us, then leaving b4 we wake up." Then some brother whom I have NEVER seen before cameup and said "why dont you just leave?" I said: "If that's honestly what you want then I will." They then opened the back door for me and told me to leave. What The Fuck. Im pissed off.
My best friend here on campus is in this frat, I thought I was good friends with atleast a few elder-brothers and that every thing was "cool" between me and teh frat. apparently not. I guess that Im never going back there again. honestly this may just be a rant but how can this happen? If someone calls me tommorow and trys to make-up with me should I be like "fuck off" or should I actually listen and give it a chance? how can they be such asses? Its not like I became a brother and then quit, I decided after accepting a BID that frat life isnt the life for me and I told them within DAYS so I hardly made any commitment. so newaysimdrunkandpissedattheseguys, but a pizza is coming and I shoudl feel better after eating that.

damn dude. I would move out of state.

u should be glad you left that shit. i dated a guy who took that stuff way too serious. never again.

what a bunch of dorks.

I hate fraternities, its not like it (apparently) was back in the day (a la Animal House) and this is a prime example why.

What are they like? I went to a small school (about 5000 students) where most people joined because they had no friends or they thought it would look good on their resume. Is it different elsewhere?

I dont know where u live or what school u went to so its hard to say. I'm from the south so the two big frats (where i live and went to school) are SAE & KA. You could say Tranceaddict is a frat, right? What do u get from it?

i only heard about fraternities on TV and all but what is the point of them .....is the main goal to organize party together or is it more like a club and u share interests or ?

Frats are so small time & they are for fucking nerds. Dont worry about it dude. Fuck the geek partys & hit the clubs.

The idea of joining a frat sounds stupid to me..

i remember you posted the thread asking us for advice on what to do about accepting a frat bid. you should have listened to us on this one. frats are really stupid. whats the point in paying money for friends? what do you get out of a frat? you live in a shithole of a house, get treated like shit by the upperclassmen, and you pay them money for this.

About 99 percent of my friends from high school joined frats, and they are a ton of fun but I'm w/ you they just weren't for me.


Just know that frats are all about excluding people, because it makes some of the insecure brothers feel special about themselves.

Not everyone is like that ofcourse, they're just the same kids we are, its just that I've never been to a frat where at least a small portion of the kids didn't take the whole thing too seriously, and suck the fun out of it.

I also think pledging is the dumbest shit on Earth. That shit was fun in like freshman year high school football but when I hit 18 I wasn't gonna let another grown man paddle my ass or make me eat a jar of maynaise or some dumb shit, and then we'll be "friends" afterwards.

One of my friends (who recently got his frat tattooed on his leg) said he joined b/c he wanted a deeper than friend relationship that he could only get at a frat. I told him that was one the stupidest things he'd ever said.

My friend was making fun of this frat we were at and he pissed behind their bar.

Well Tranceaddict lets anyone in right?? No fees?? NO wondering are they going to pick you?? I went to school in the south also and crazy enough where I went to school our towns nickname was G-vegas as in your location and at that school Frats where a joke there where more then enough friends that you could make for FREE you never had to join greek life.

Anyway my 2 sister's went "greek" for lifelong friend shit and all that LOL what a joke after paying to be there friends for 4 years when my younger sister needed them the most they all turned there backs on her.

As for the original post, these guys take this shit seriously, sometime way to much, don't expect a phone call and don't expect those previous friends of yours to be such good friends anymore, you did the right thing, I mean seriously do you need to pay to have friends?? I don't think so!!

I also think the idea of a frat is stupid. I guess that is why I hate my job so much. The army is kinda like a fraternity but I get paid, and not nearly enough to put up with the bullshit.
