Paradigm Summer Cottage Getaway Planning- Looking for Cottage

Hi Guy's and Gal's

Getting a jump start on the summer cottage getaway.

We are looking for a Cottage to host the event. Here is what we would like

Date: Last week Aug (Monday to Sunday) 21-27th
***EDIT***
Location: North of Toronto, South of Parry Sound, East of Owensound, West of Lindsey
Size: 5 Bedroom Min. Big Cottage, 2 Bathrooms, Semi-Private/Private. Big outdoor Lawn (for tents id needed),
Proximity: Close to City, but away from Urban (Ie no Neighbours). Pref Close to a Beach.

PM/msn me if you happen to have a place that Might work. Im trying to set it up so its a TA's private cottage rather then rental that way it will be a lot cheeper.

Barry

I'm thinking one of the ontario provincial parks, which have group camping areas might work. There are even some campgrounds that have beachside campground areas. Most of these have power outlets for a small fee.... the thing is... this would imply "roughing it" more than in a cottage.

Seems like a good idea but they have noise restrictions...

A provincial park would not allow such a party to happen.

{edit} What Mada said.

Going on the camping idea, I went to Whitesands (sauble beach) for Canada day long weekend last year. This is a private campground, which has absolutely no noise restrictions, and gets to be very rowdy (the weekend I was there anyways). It does not have water taps or set campsites, just find a place to park & set up camp. You can set up in what is basically a grass field, which can accomodate hundreds if not thousands of people.. OR you can chose to set up in a secluded site which is surrounded by trees (like a regular provincial park). Everything is first come, first serve.. I think it would be a great place for a TOTA event.

www.whitesandscampground.com

5-10 minute drive to Sauble beach.

I might have a few pics of the campground itself for an idea of what it looks like. Ill post later.

Plan it in August as I won't be able to hit it up in June.

It really isnt so bad camping in a big feild, if your really just there to party, what do you need a bunch of trees for anyways. The downside is that it costs $1 for a shower which lasts 3-4 mins. On a busy weekend I dont think I ever waited to shower either, nobody seems to take a long time if you gotta pay for it.

Isn't this event a week?

No shower..?? Um! LOL

Yeah it was great - the site we had was out away from everyone so we were able to sleep when ppl were still partying.

when i was there I even happened to run into a few trance-lovers. It was the kind of place where u could walk up to any campfire and chill with people u didnt know. However since the place is so big I remember getting lost a few times. There isnt any light at night except from campfires.. and theres no numbered sites, so the only way you could figure out how to get back is by remembering where people's cars are parked..lol

Yea I know there are campgrounds that don't have noise restrictions. Besides.... If tree cover, we can use it to our advantage.

I doubt we'll be pumping anything more than 100dB and that can dissipate enough in the wide open.

I'd push the camping idea as a PU version of WEMF!!!! ... we could even capitalize on the fact that it could be a post-wemf party, done PU style.... and promote it at WEMF!

I like the idea of having it right after wemf. I can easily enough delay my flights an extra day or two to hang out. Besides it gives all the sketchies a few days to return from zombie like status before heading home to family, gf's, wives etc.... lol. plus we could all be supper tanned if given a few extra days on non stop sunshine.

after wemf you can bet only the hardcore would show up since many are flat out finished off by sunday!

in that case I'll teach you how to camp too.

honestly though as long as your excited about the idea then you should be fine. its the girls that have never been camping that don't want to sleep on the ground (or even a comfy air mattress) and aren't excited about it that can't handle it.

No no, Im always to try new things. So camping is obviously one of those new things. If I slept on the ground with just a blanket, ok. LOL! Air matresses are actually comfy. YAY! That's my mission, having you teach me how to camp. Step one, teach me how to..what is it called....Oh yes, pitch a tent!

Best way to do that is to talk dirty to him.
