I just scared myself REALLY REALLY BAD!

So i was just taking a Q-tip to my ears when all of a sudden my left ear goes COMPLETLY silent.. i couldn't hear anything for like 20 mins..
none of my family is home so for the last 20 mins i've just been running around the house, crying, trying to figure out what i did and what the eff to do..thinking i went deaf in my left ear.. cause i couldn't hear ANYTHING.. not even my own voice wheni plugged the other ear

thankfully it turned out to just be a pocket of air stuck behind some water from the Q-tip and it kind of drained out..
that was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me..
i'm all worked up now...and still feeling kinda jumpy

you guys ever have and incident lead to a freak out like that?

once I was trimming my side burns... i was using these really f'ing sharp manicure scissors, well my hand slipped and I froze thinking I had just cut my ear b/c i could have sworn i saw it go through in the mirror. so i looked closer and it looked ok. I started relaxing a bit. then I looked again pleased i had not just cut my ear off, then i saw it. I had actually sliced right through the 98% of my ear lope and it was just hanging there. becasue the scissors had gone through so clean it had stayed in place by friction against the other half. Luckily I was home from boarding school that weekend and all I got out before I passed out was mmmmmmmoooooooom. She didn't hear my call out but she didn hear me hit the floor and came up to see what the hell was going on. when I could stand again I got out my skin glue and glued it back on tight and watched it really closely for the next week as it healed. luckily it healed perfectly with no evidence left that it ever happened, but I almost lost my ear lobe if it hadn't still been holding on by a thread. Lucky for me I get injured a fair bit in sports and such so I always have a fun medical trainning bag with me for the most part. (if there was an upside to this story)

for some reason I can't handle watching myself get hurt without feeling sick and coming close to passing out. but getting hurt in sports and MMA fighting is fine for me. lol.

I'm glad you & your hearing are good! Id rather die than lose my hearing.

Once when I was 12 or 13 I dont remember, I was opening a can of fruit, well the can opener was a piece of shit, so i tried to open the rest up by just lifting the lid. Needless to say my hand slid in under the lid and I couldnt lift it to remove my hand. I bawled for about 20 minutes until Someone heard me and ran downstairs...Oh man, I freaked out, I though I would have to have my had removed ( Keep in mind I was just a kid)

Yup happens quite frequently actually, but my hearing only goes for about 30seconds at a time, so I'm not too worried right now, and I have a hearing specialist that I go to when needed, and they say everything seems to be okay.

I haven't been able to hear properly out of my right ear for over a month now. It is driving me insane. I've seen the doctor and taken the medication and still nothing. It all started when I got a cold and it still hasn't gotten better. Now...when it is quite I hear a ringing in my ear. I think its time to get back to see a specialist.

happens often if u have sinus trouble...jsut give it time..plug ur nose and mouth and blow hard...usually pops....may block back but at least u know uve not lost ur hearing

Done that many times...never popped. The only time it popped was when I was playing hockey....if it doesn't get better soon I may go postal
