I listened to HC long time ago, when the Thunderdome-Compilation was still on. After the last edition (no. 23) I fell into trance, as I lacked of other good compilations (at least in my region). I heard a "Resident E" (Marc Acardipane's label) compilation 2 years or so ago, but it didn't really convince me. A lot of hardstyle, less hardcore, unfortunately. But I liked some tracks and try some tracks once in a time atm.
i like Happy Hardcore. i also like Gabber

the traditional happy hardcore was very good, however by 1998 the ideas were being recycled too much & like trance too many pointless vocal songs were about. Newstyle (ophidian etc) is decent now for the odd moment, and the experimental/freeform djs like sharkey, luna-c, energy & robbie long are decent. The rest (raverbaby stuff) can be a tad cheesy but works for some people, so kudos to them
i admit i like it
I don't understand why a lot of people dislike it. It might be a little too "rave-ish" but it's still edm. Nice link Dj Alliance, i'm checking these out for sure.
now that i've listened to it, i kind liked it, tell me some big names/tunes. :]

i used to listen to gabber when i was 15 16 yrs old ....i used to love neophyte ..the stunned guys ..evil activities and many more then i stopped and went into happy hardcore and finally trance ....Gabber got boring
I find hardcore to be very unpleasant music.
Gabber is the one and only hardcore type of music that I listen to.
Most of it isn't artistic but it's really fun and fast and wild, ya know.

In my opinion, a lot of this stuff cannot be considered as music though a couple of tunes can be listened to.
what i want to know is... how do you dance to it?
sorry its to happy for me..

I like to hear some hardcore once in a while, it can be pretty good sometimes
Maybe some hard house or hard trance like Cosmic Gate every now and then but the really hard stuff, like Gabba/Gabber, hard German or Swedish Techno, Speedbass, Freeform and all that really hard stuff that I have no idea how you listen to that, let alone dance to that stuff?? I think dance music should be pleasant to listen to and dance to, and not suffer through endless waves of booming bass and loud acidy noises and annoying voices or loops. If someone likes that, fine. If I want to dance i'll listen to some good melodic trance, some soulful and funky house, some traditional european or detroit techno (non IDM), and breakbeat music (love that suff now) but hardcore...not for me.
Good ol Hardcore, don't listen to much of it anymore but I still got a place in my heart for the heaviness of it.
