best thing i could recommend is to go to your local shop and play around until you find a mixer your comfortable with. Go with some of the more established manufacturers too... i.e: pioneer, vestax, etc...

i have a numark mixer, you can find a lot of good mixers, just post a mixer here again that your interested in and me or the other guys can tell you if it worth it or not. just dont buy the one your friend is selling, in my college they have one of those mixers in every class, teachers use them to speak on the mic. its not a pro. dj mixer.
