...i'm back!! and so is.......Solar Stone VS. ATB!!!!!

Ok Boys and Girls, weirdos and freaks, and of course my personal favorite dickie laroux (wookieslut). I have not posted a Versus thread in a while so I figured that we would start some shit up with a lopsided matchup...lets see what you peeps think!

In this corner.......

Yes this is it Solar Stone...makers of that trance classic seven cities, they go by many aliases but today we will only use their one smash hit SEVEN CITIES...pick your remix, I personally favor the atlantis and v one living cities remix.....

And in this corner.....

Some say he's(ATB) a sell out, others think he is misunderstood, undoubtably he has made many hits and catchy tunes, but this begs the question can ANY of his hits or remixes stand up to solar stones one classic....well my friends...

YOU DECIDE!

This is another MIZZuno production

Woohoo the vs. threads are back. Well i'm go with solar stone who also did z2-i want you. Lopsided is right. My vote goes to solar stone, they have made something that atb has not......A DECENT TRACK with no cheese.

Posted by Slylee on Jan-29-2002 21:01:

well if it was based on looks, i'd go for atb..hahahah but since im not too familiar w/ atb im gonna have to go w/ solar stone cuz i LOOOOOOOOVE seven cities. im so behind, i know. and im also voting for solar stone cuz that punk ass wookieslut called me a moron in the chat and u dont even know me u basted! heheheeh

Posted by yujie__ on Jan-29-2002 21:03:

I pick Solar Stone because there one track, Seven Cities, outlasted all ATB songs in quality and peoples top 10's. I never get tire of listening to V-one remix. it was re-release twice and i havent seen a ATB vinyl song did that. Z2-I want u(lange remix) was awesome too.

Posted by Vivid Boy on Jan-29-2002 21:05:

shutup tta the only cheese in the scene is YOU!...yes thats right im bad...bad to the bone...and my vote goes with atb not because of their tunes but just to piss toronto trance off woot!

well it has just come to my attention that it wasn't the REAL wookieslut in the chat. hahha it was someone pretending to be him and makin fun of him...lol my apologies wookieslut...my vote is still for solar stone though

Posted by AndiH on Jan-29-2002 21:11:

i liked 'till i come and the binary finary remix of ukw - hypnotic but my vote goes to solar stone cause of seven cities, their remixes of moonman - galaxia, cygnus x - the orange theme, ecano - run and the chilled euphoria album.

Posted by Vivid Boy on Jan-29-2002 21:14:

i once again would like to vote for atb....he has one of the coolest vidz..i just remember....hes behind some glass dome and theres tons of chix trying to get to him blocked by this glass dome...and hes in the middle spinning....now the tune was cheese but that is how i would like for my video to be like if i ever had one.....and once again i vote for atb just to piss torontotance off.....

ps:slyleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee my throat hurts

I vote for SuperGreg.

i say ATB. and read this before you place some abusive comment

when 9pm til i come hadnt hit the charts, it was absilouty huge in good 'ol ibiza, which at the time was the "in" place in the clubbing world. because of the huge acceleration of the clubbing culture during this time ATb's tune became unprecidently popular for a trance tune, and probbaly there never will be one as popular chart wise. and at the time wasnt cheese at all, this meant more and more trance artists came through because the popularity of the genre was boosted by his success, they made money, became semi popular too and brought the sound of trance to everyone. they however never reached to same heights as ATb, as due to his popularity basically anyone and his rather bad productions there after because a cheese monster, and the semi popular artists remained, still making suffiencient money and making sufficient tunes, which kept our superior genre going

so i ask you to, even though he is knowhere near his former "genius", to salute ATB for his contribution to stabalising the trance genre and aiding other at the time not known artists with great talent, to come through.

oh yeh may i point out in this situation that i am a neutral, because i have never liked neither till i come or seven cities, n dont ask me why i just dont know

muwahahaha! youre evil dude, its still funny tho. ill side with you too. Seven Cities is a freakin awesome track, but its not really possible to say thats better than several volumes of work. ATB may be cheese, but everyone knows who ATB is... late/

Posted by SYNthSRI on Jan-29-2002 21:44:

Jester HAHAHAH!!!

actually gonna pick the artist that had more of an "influence" on me

and that would be

A T B

just because of "Till I Come" God damn was this tune sweeeeet back in the day...especially pumping out of the speakers at 4 in the morning...getting second wind to dance up a storm *sigh* those were the days

but TALENT wise -- ATB doesn't compare to the guyz of Solar Stone

Posted by tranceaddict991 on Jan-29-2002 21:59:

S-O-L-A-R S-T-O-N-E
ATB is good, but does he have a hit thats been goign strong for 3 years??? Seven Citie's is one of the biggest anthems ever.. 9 PM is good but not match for Seven Cities

Posted by Ste on Jan-29-2002 22:46:

i wouldnt say it was of the biggest anthems ever seeing as its relativly unheard of outside of the purist trance-lover realm of music.

Ignore vividboy......he has issues.

Posted by Rakoon on Jan-29-2002 23:19:

Solar Stone way better! Hmm, many of these versus topics lately..

Posted by ABTsportsline on Jan-30-2002 00:28:

i vote for this guy:

Posted by ABTsportsline on Jan-30-2002 00:31:

i vote for ATB..... and not just b/c of my name either

I loved the second album, because when it came out, it wasn't cheese... the radios made it cheese. Lots of great hits on there, even if they did kinda sound the same. Seven Cities was good, but its one track that (IMO) is good, not great. Definitely not good enough to beat another man's entire volumes.... you're right, it is lopsided!

Don't forget all the excellent ATB remixes of other songs that are out there. I admit ATB isn't the best producer out there, but i wouldn't pass him off as nothing.

...and also to help the ATB side of voting, to keep it even.

I VOTE ATB

-ABT-

Posted by fastmp3 on Jan-30-2002 01:19:

yo mizz thanks for putting up this thread

my vote goes of course to solar stone and i'm pretty sure da f0x will vote for ATB ... he dissed seven cities on the chat room yesterday , shame on him "WHIP"

Posted by TeKnoHe@d2025 on Jan-30-2002 01:30:

Solar Stone gets my vote...I used to like ATB when I first got into trance but Solar Stone is amazing. As for CDs take a listen to Chilled Euphoria mixed by Solar Stone and u'll see why I picked them!

Posted by Thierry on Jan-30-2002 01:35:

I love these VS. threads.

SOLAR STONE hands down. Seven Cities (V-One Living Cities Remix) is still one of my favorite songs of all time. ATB brought trance to the mainstream but he stayed making the same sounding crap over and over. Not my style.

Posted by Mark on Jan-30-2002 02:41:

hands down choice
