Oakenfold & Suzy Solar @ Amp March 30th roll call

Any of you Tampa peeps coming out on Thursday night for a dose of Suzy and Oakenfold?

No doubt, see you f00s there.

Looks like I was the only one that went.

He played from 1-2:45... seriously who ends 15 min early? The MC asks for one more tune @ 2:40, I'm like WTF.

Ok, some good and bad w/ Oakie.

KILLER tunes. If anyone can ID his first track or any tracks for the matter, drop me a PM. Some classic tunes from ~2002 ish. Overall just banging tracks.

He trainwrecked twice. He was lazy as hell. He hardly did anything but play tracks. His mixing was OK at best. Beatmatching should be used losely in his case. His beats didn't match up sometimes, maybe on purpose, sounded ok. One time a CD must have started skipping and it dropped the sound, he stood there confused for a bit, only to lazily throw on another track. One time he accidentally cross faded and the bass went POUNDED for a second, everyone freaked out. Near the end he left the stage for a good 2 minutes, everyone was confused.

In conclusion... he's clearly been around the block a few times. He looked bored and tired. However, his ear still has it. I had a fucking blast b/c of his track selection, lots of stuff I recognized, in general bangin tunes, maybe 3 filler tracks tops. I'd think he should be more appreciative of the crowd, but once you've played every gig on earth, I suppose it gets old. I'd consider him the Ozzy Osbourne of EDM. Past his prime, fucked up from drugs, but still a bad ass mother ******.

Suzy played early from 10:15-11:30 in the upstairs dj booth. She prefers playing on their stage over that booth because she is too short to see the crowd from there. Anyone who has seen her knows crowd interaction is a big part of her set and in that booth its limited. Camel sponsered the night so they were very strict with cameras so i could not video her or get any pics. This is something i always try to do so we can relive the sets at a later date. This is the order of the tracks she played last night to the best of our recollection.

Liquid Todd was on after Suzy but on the stage. He started a lot slower than Suzy with some progressive house. I didnt think the crowd was really feeling his set as they were anxious to hear Oakie. He finally came on at 1. His set was typical Oakie style with great music, minimal mixing, a few bumps in the road here and there but overall a great time. I think he played a lot of stuff from his new album cause i had trouble id'ing tracks. Towards the end of the night, he also dropped Dogzilla's Without You. Overall a good night with not much mcing over the crowd for a change.

That's whack about Camel not allowing pics or video, even from you. Partial tracklist looks great. Liquid Todd playing prog house...defintely time for a barf bag there, a la "Tooth" Decay at Space. Good to hear whats-his-face wasn't running his damn mouth the whole night on the mic the whole time.

I did not even listen to Liquid Todd and when Oakie came on, it was just a big dissapointment. The one song i really liked he fucked it up. As a matter of factk Oakie fucked up 3 times if not mistaken. I am talking about MAJOR fuck ups....either he did not know how to use the board or he just sucks now! Anyhow, i had a great time with me friends but i'll never again see oakie

When you coming to Orlando, the scene sucks around here? We only had BT and Oakie last month, but other than that, that was it.
