Whoohoo! I bought dj equipment! <Updated with pictures>
Yesterday I bought 2x Technics 1210s and a Vestax PCV275 mixer. Finally I can listen to my 100-something vinyls.
But it's hard to mix
I still can't beatmix, if I can't do it by the end of the week, I think I'll give up
Here we go
M.I.K.E!

The pictures are a bit dark, but my room isn't very well lit, so just turn up the brightness on your monitors
heh if you give up you could always trade me your gear
my 1200's are sorta outta commission right now
Beatmatching is going to take some time, just stick with it.

Look, you got the best equipment there is.
It's used by professionals everywhere.
Many people (including me) have cheaper equipment that's worse than yours, and we still manage to learn beatmatching.
If you're having problems, rest assured that you have the best tools to succeed.
Give the beatmatching some time.
I'm too cheap right now to buy equipment so im using PCDJ to learn on a sort of virtual CDJ system. I'm picking up beatmatching pretty quick, and practicing every day.
The first time you make a good mix with the beats matched... it feels really good. Keep at it, and when you get there, you'll know what we mean.
I'll take some pictures with my digicam later... I've got Stanton 500 AL II cartridges, don't know if they're any good.
I've done a couple of mixes that didn't sound bad, but that was probably just luck
I don't know if I've set up the tonearm height, horizontal balance, stylus pressure and anti-skating correctly though. Anybody got the same cartridges as me, and know how to set it up?
I'm using the guide to mixing from recess.co.uk with two copies of Mauro Picotto - Verdi (one is from Metamorphose EP). I'm gonna get so sick of that tune
Haak, take some pictures! That's quality shit, man! I wish i had 'em... Be proud!
