Cheesy college nights in DC and Baltimore are no more

Just as an interesting piece of info (I know nobody here likes cheesy top40 clubs, but merely as a news item):

- In Washington DC, two of the biggest 18+ cheesy college clubs - Lulu's and Tequila Beach - have closed. The reason is construction of new projects.

- And in Baltimore, college nights have been banned. Legislators have stopped them, starting this week, due to "problems with underage drinking, etc."

What this means is that suddenly there are almost no 18+ college spots in DC or Baltimore. Although this doesn't affect me age-wise (and probably others who never go to cheesy clubs), I just thought, how zealous can these legislators be in their efforts to kill any semblance of fun?

baltimore IS perhaps really easy to drink when you are under 21. i used to go to power plant (i know, i'm ashamed) when i was 18-20 and would leave drunk every weekend. i'm sure it was just getting a little too crazy...but i doubt EVERY college night will go.

Nah. If anything it was getting less crazy. When I was in college ~4 years ago it was a whole lot wilder than in recent times. I've gone to these Baltimore hangouts recently and was amazed how strict it is now.

Don't be ashamed Erin...those drunken bus trips were great!! Just think about how many stories those nights are responsible for.

Yeah... since I got to college in NYC the only places in the city that I've been carded at have been Spirit and Crobar. 85% of the time I can even get drinks at the Avalon bars, and I don't have (and don't see the need in getting one) a fake ID. So liquor stores and bars alike don't bother me, but I'll have to say though, closing down 'college nights' is bullshit... I guess I'm glad I'm in the city where the clubs don't have to ever close.

Yes, best time ever. I miss it a ton though. I think I'm in withdraw. I don't even want to go out around here.
