Funabashi - Daylight [sample included]

I would describe this tune as mellow and chill. At least that's the type of vibe I get after listening to this song. It's very enjoyable trance and reminds me of an old 80's tune called 'crockett's theme' by Jan Hammer which features some of the elements in this track. Hear for yourself:

1)Funabashi - Daylight <---sample

You can buy it on www.beatport.com

While enjoyable and nice and rolling, it reminds me of most other McProg like pretty much everything released on coldharbour. That same low rumbling bassline and echoes and reverb added to practically every sound and synth to hide the simplicity of it all.

I like it. It's a nice chill track with a good sound.

I wonder what you'd call some real "chill house" if you heard some. This is not house lol.

I didnt know it was considered "flaming" to let someone know what genre a track is. I don't see where I called you a "fucking ass" for calling McProg "chill house" (a disgrace to some of the really good "chill house" out there.)

And if you check about 2 posts above yours, you can read my opinion of the track.

There is no genre called "chill house", as far as i know. There isn't a genre called "chill-out" either. It's an adjective, a word that describes the mood and feel of the music.

"Chill-out" has been slapped onto countless compilations over the years to sell more copies, but it is more reflective of what you do when listing to the music, rather than an actual genre classification. Perfect music for relaxation, the beach, summer.....but not an actual genre.

If you listen to "chill-out" you are probably listening to mixture of nu-jazz, downtempo, trip hop and ambient.

"Chill House" is actually DEEP house, a certifiable genre with a lot of history that has been around for a long time.

That's my $0.02, Clovsha

Werd, I dont really care about genres either but its not house lol. I'd call CD1 of Danny Howells GU027 "chill house" if I had to stick it to something.

So yeah...chill track...mcprog...not my thing. eh.

I just get ticked off when people tell me Markus Shulz spins house...just like when Tiesto's MC says Tijs is taking us on a magikal journey through house music...its like fuck off man...Danny Howells owns house.
