Dancing Dude Making Harmony between 2 Synth Sounds and melodies

I've been trying to make trance for like 5 years (since old Rebirth ) ,i'm able of reaching good Melodies\sounds for the lead Synth but i always get kinda blocked when i try to make a matching "suppurting" melody that will go with it in Harmony, even if the sounds go together the lead synth and the "supporting synth" will always sound like they are 2 strangers

Can you guys give me any tips\help guides for my problem??

Thanx in advance

Put the lead playing a loop, select the other sound and hit notes until it sounds good.

I have two words for you...music theory. Learn some music theory (chords, scales, etc) and you'll realize what notes harmonize well with what key your lead is playing in.

I was afraid someone might say it
I don't wanna insult any EDM producers but i doubt they all learnt music theory in their past...i suspect they have some secrets up their sleeve...

Why did you afraid?
It's very interesting and important for productions.

Find out the chord progression, write a simple arpeggio for the notes of each measure.

Nice post, ill try what you've said later
