Posted by marcos.tate on Apr-02-2006 00:20:

maybe i'm taking it too seriously but perhaps it one reason why theyre not taken so seriously in the industry?

I mean i wasted 2 hours of virus and adware scanning and system back rolling

Posted by Storyteller on Apr-02-2006 00:22:

I'm sorry but if it looked like the screenshot taken above it certainly doesn't look like any virus/adware/spyware. And it was obvious it is part of fruity too.... Could be me...

Posted by RoBDaWG on Apr-02-2006 01:46:

HAHAHAHAHAAH that's fucking hysterical, my production computer isnt hooked up to the internet, i try to keep it crap-free.... i didnt get one

You're taking it too seriously.

It looks like a dodgy spyware/cracked app virus, looks nothing like Image Line's work.

And if i want humour i'll go to the stand up comedy club, FL Studio needs a MAJOR rebranding and resorting if it wants the respect it craves

It's called an easter egg. There are tons of them in many different programs. It's kind of like how you play pinball in Microsoft Word 97, except it is just a picture of a little girl at a desk. It took a programmer very little time to make a little joke, and I don't think any less of the company for it.

Personally, I'd respect Propellerheads and Steinberg a lot more if they'd put stuff like this into their products. The real problem is people (like you) taking themselves too seriously.

I used to be bothered about how flstudio is seen as toy by some people but now I couldn't give a fuc. If it's good enough for what I want to do with it then who cares what the anybody else thinks.

electron machinedrum has an easter egg where you can see elvis in the display.

I used to like the machine, but that made it a complete useless children's toy.

I agree with you mate! You could argue that it was a harmless bit of fun but why was it done? The Image Line staff should save their school yard pranks for a Friday night down the pub not for their customers.

It doesn't say a lot about their level of professionalism or their respect for the people who buy their software.

Why shouldn't we take ourselves seriously? Some of us pay good money for a professional program and a professional level of service, we should get it!

Posted by Storyteller on Apr-02-2006 17:36:

there is a difference between taking yourself seriously and too seriously. Are you too good for a simple laugh?

No, not at all! But I am less inclined to see the funny side when the joke is on me. And Image Line should have better things to do with their time than play silly games.

Posted by jojimbo1 on Apr-02-2006 19:39:

Just about every major piece of software (including windows) has an easter egg. It's just they're usually not so in you face as FL, and you got to know where to find it in the program.

Posted by Aesthetic on Apr-02-2006 22:44:

Yeah man, cause the guys down at image-line sat around one day and thought "how can we 'get' aquascape from tranceaddict.com? i've been wanting to pull one over his eyes for years".
