REVIEW of some of Carl Cox
I want to say that I didn't stay too long, maybe the first couple hours of his set, but I don't know what it was, I just wasn't feeling it like Carl usually delivers. Wasn't shit, but not what I was hyped up to hear again from Cox. Then again, I hear that he didn't deliver in Miami Crobar either.
Thought Serge Devant was really great, started slow, but finished really strong.
Good time, but not outstanding
Agreed. I stayed till about 4:30. There were portions of brilliance, but nothing to keep me amazed. Serge was great!
Alright...let me first post - this was the first double i've done in a long long ass time....and for those who didn't approve of Carl COX? BAH!
Ok, the worst part of the night was the bar closing down since we lost an hour last night and i can say the crowd was generally behaved....
now for those who thought his set was mediocre, i agree....i'd say the first 1.5hrs were a complete simple driving techno bassline which i think is what he wanted to establish. it built the energy up slowly...real slowly...
then around 4:30, there was his relentless knocking, this relentless bassline, the energy level was so high and he just kept building it up with every breakdown....from 4:30-5:30 was one of the hotest power hours i've ever witnessed....i give the cox a 7/10 for his presentation but in terms of energy level, he maxed it out solid for an hour. I can say about 9 tracks in a row were PURE ENERGY...techno people techno...

I was kind of annoyed about the bar. I figured they'd do it, but when we opened up our bar tab for the night, I specifically asked our bartender what the deal was because of the time switch. This was at 1:20 or so and the clocks were going ahead in 40 minutes. He said that they wouldn't be affected, so we didn't really drink that quickly because we had time. We had another 2-3 rounds and went back down to get a round at 2:50 on my phone and he informed us that the bar was only open for another 5 minutes, so Christina got 4 drinks for the 2 of us (she even wanted to do a shot, too, which I thought was a bad idea). The other thing was that he told us that we were supposed to be done with our drinks by 4:30, too, which I've never heard in all the times I've been there.
BTW, they even were pulling all the bottles from the VIP tables between 4:30 and 5.
oh yea ryan and i wanted to know what is up with the roll call thread? it seemed like it was only me and ryan there LOL....
also noticed the crowd was a bit more of that "Saturday" regular crowd...

Highlight of the night was seeing two very heavy-set chicks give each other lap dances on the upper floor....and then they had this "triple" kiss/fondling/groping with some dood...by then, people noticed that me and mere and Wakid staring, and I swear the whole crowd turned around and cheered (even tho is was fakin nasty!!) The bouncers caught this and kicked them out!! LOL LOL LOL It was a like a Jerry-Springer-spring-break-ending for Serge's set 
I see the funniest shit!! LOL

I was there, but something came up and I had to leave right as Carl was coming on.
It was ok.......just ok! Enjoyed the party but, wouldn't pay 40:00 dollars to see him again!

I had a good time, Serge was awesome as usual. This is Miami rocked it out and set up Carl perfect. Carl was a little so-so in the begining, Kel I understand why you left a little early. I was going to leave a little after myself but Walid made me stay and thank god I did. I the last hour and a half or so where awesome. It was the Carl Cox I wanted to hear, just banging it out track after track. The crowd was still going crazy and the place was packed when I left at 6:30 in the morning. All in all I had a good time, and can't wait for him to come back again.
I'll have pics later this week if Jay ever gives me my camera again...LOL!!!

one more thing ...
I got there about 10:55 and got comped on Bradley's list. I didn't even realize it. I blindly took the "reduced" ticket to the window to pay and the guy told me to just keep walking. Then I looked at it and it said "COMP" Cool.
Kelly and Mere said they had to pay, so it may have just been a mistake, or I just got there early.
The down side was that I was extremely bored the first 20-30 mins. On the upside I didn't feel as bad about leaving when I had to.

Yea i hurting too much from the night b4 to enjoy this, went at 2 cause my girl knew one of the bouncers so we got in for free and only stayed till 5 or so. Music was good though, always high energy with coxy
