"I wasn't aware that Cleveland had a baseball team?"

"Yes ma'am, we've got uniforms and everything."

~Major League , classic.

Jim Thome hits a bomb in his first game with the White Sox - farther in The Cell than anyone on the ChiSox hit through all of last year
Sure looking much better than last season
It's just one game, but as a team, the Sox are looking pretty good

mariners are gonna suck this year

what a bold prediciton

i watched the game up until the 8th inning. i was having flashbacks to the marathon game during the world series and kept waiting for geoff blum to hit a home run and end it. buerhle never looked in his usual rhythm. the indians better hope that sabathia's injury isnt one that lingers all season because their rotation is pretty thin.

verny u baseball hor!

im watching the mets right now...im jetlagged on 5 hours sleep on a plane and have to stay awake for class but Im watching baseball...

was that the first HR of the season?

if so its a good omen for my fantasy baseball team.

PooHoles with 2 homers, A Rod with a grand salami, and Big Papi with a HR and 3 hits. Looks like the best hitters in baseball are still the best hitters.

Though for giving up 2 runs in the first Moyer kept his cool really well tonight... but it sucks that Moyer and Ichiro are the only ones left from that record setting 2001 season.

Oh and wtf is up with the spelling of the new catchers name?

agreed...only azn catcher in MLB though, or first in history or both...u watch game today? twas gay, but that homer in bottom of 9th was pretty sick

yea you guys were tough back then with buhner, edgar martinez, and griffey. baseball seems to be cyclical unless your the braves or the yankees.

Why on earth... is MOYER starting another opening DAY?????

What is the fascination... or HARD ON the M's have for this guy...

if I'm not mistaken, the guy has started every opening day since Safeco opened... at least that's what I remember, because it was years ago and it was against the sox...

and Moyer is like 57.... the immortal left hander.... christ almighty....

so my point is...

GET A FUCKING ACE ALREADY... I"m sick of seeing Jamie Moyer start on Opening day.... do me a favor... all I ask!

and don't tell me Felix would have started, but didn't because of his injury... we all know the M's have this sacred image of Moyer... that's why the SUCK and will never win anything ever again...

true. i don't see any "#1 ace talent" in jamie moyer . he must have an inside connection or something.

and speaking of old guys, when is greg maddux going to retire ? when i remember this guy pitching for the cubs when i was in elementary school, you need to retire .

Former Red Sox pitcher Bronson Arroyo hits a home run on his first at-bat with the Reds
Welcome back to the National League!

Glad to see baseball back again.. Opening week always signals the beginning of spring for me. Looking forward to the new era of baseball. I was sick and tired of 13-12 games!

Go Nationals.

I was at the exhibition game in DC last Friday against the Orioles and i went into the "official" team store and looked for a Soriano jersey but they didn't have any.

I figured they might've been sold out, so i went to the counter and asked and they said they didn't have any!

I want to get a Nationals Soriano jersey before he gets traded.

Jimmy Rollins' hitting streak ends at 38 games

wait until afterwards it'll be much much cheaper.

I was almost positive I posted this before... Guess not.

"Forget a Soriano jersey... I'd get a Zimmerman jersey."
