Darude was booted off the decks in Montreal at the Dome a year or 2 ago when some management guy demanded he play Sandstorm immediately, and Darude refused, saying he might play it later since he knows some people want it.

Exactly the opposite of the situation that people think happens with Sandstorm. I bet he wishes he could just forget about that track!

He should just put this clause in his contract rider:
"[a] Management agrees that Darude will not play Sandstorm at this event"

I remember reading about that

He posted the turn of events on TA

despite everything he works with some talented finnish producers (like JS16) and he really puts on agood show, you can count on me being there.

Good job atilla and it will be great to see ben behind the decks. I mean this sincerely unlike most of the posts people make where they say one thing but sort of mean the other.

Well Done!

Thanks Sean

Sandstorm is the worst Darude track out there, but is the one that made him famous, and made him a lot of money.

Last time I saw him at IMF, the guy was completely nuts. Best set of the night at the show!

The Sandstorm debate, aside, Ville is a great DJ and he knows how to get a crowd pumped up. His ability and creativity really comes through in the way he mixes on the Pioneer 1000s. Last time he was here, he actually made signs before the show, which he kept holding up for the crowd, he's a really interactive performer and a far cry from the DJ Sammy some people make him out to be.

But he pre programms his sets

Posted by DetN8R on Apr-10-2006 19:38:

^ No, common mistake. He programs his VIDEO sets. I've seen him live and up close three or four times now and the only time he's actually actively programmed a tracklist was for his video laptop mix.

He posted on TA that he infact pre programs his sets, or some of em, If I remember which thread it was Ill look it up

man, I remember when we brought Darude to Regina, Sask back in June, 2002 for a livepa set. That was my going away party before I moved to good old Winnipeg.

Great dood, and he totally knows how to work the crowd with this live pa, I'm sure he does with his DJing aswell.
