Club bags - girls help me out here

This is for all my ladies in the house.

I never take a purse when I go dancing...with my arms flailing about it just wouldn't work. So I usually end up having someone else hold my things. I'd rather not do that all the time because sometimes at big events such as Decadence people wander off...blah blah blah...what if I need something ya know?

So lately I've been seeing people wear little fanny packs or small bags and they sling them over their shoulder, yet it's short, small and tight enough that it's not bouncing all over the place when they dance.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what kind of purse to use or where to get them. Please keep in mind I don't live in Toronto so it's not that easy for me to get them there...but I'd do what I can.

I got a purse at H&M in Toronto that I can sling over my shoulder and never bugs me dancing yet carries everything I need for $15 CAD. Try there - they have some smaller purses with longer straps that work great!

i'm super crazy about the new gucci waist pouch, but damn it's pricey

GUCCI

^^^

Shelley just bought that in Miami.. Functional & Swanky.. $$$ tho
what? this old thing..

definitely perfect for clubbing.

Kel has at least one nice little purse that would be perfect - if the clip didn't pop open and spill everything on the floor.. lol poor Karen.

SOB I just replied and the computer fucked up.

Anyway...I'm looking for something more along the lines of this...

i.e. not as big, and something I can sling like across the shoulder...not just over it...so I don't have to worry about it falling off.

It doesn't necessarily have to be designer. In fact I would prefer something to be all black, so it doesn't stand out. It can be fairly small since I don't have THAT much stuff. And definatly something not TOO pricey.

The thing I like about the fanny packs actually is that the whole purse part is pretty much like ON the strap...can you understand what I'm saying? Like so the purse itself doesn't really flop around b/c it's attached securely to teh strap.

Thanks for the tip with H&M Kris. Does anyone know if they have an online shop? I can search there and then when I come back for Decadence, there's an H&M right by Josh's so I can swing by there before the party!

Fanny packs should never be termed "in fashion" - even if they are Gucci. Just say no to butt packs.

Lisa - I don't think H&M has a catalog online but take a look there - they always have 40+ purse styles around the place. Target, Old Navy, and Kohls around me have purses like that too. I heart my Raver Purse (aka that everything fits into and that never looses its stash).

^^^ this style shouldn't be hard to find! i would suggest any big department store with a big bags and accesories section...

i had a similar one yeeeeeeeears ago, and yeah u can either put it around ur waist or across the shoulder, so it would be either across ur back or ur chest

actually give ebay a try

I usually either go sans purse or if I need to carry one I use a wristlet. I can hold onto it while I dance and I have a few that go with different outfits. Coach sells some as does Guess.

Posted by geroin on Apr-03-2006 17:21:

ive seen that before at a club
a girl was wearing a waist purse thing
it was kinda cool

I sometimes just use a pouch and just wear it around my shoulder..wore in on saturday and worked out great, Thanks shannon! MEC is key!

Fanny packs are great if you can't afford the waist purse....also I have this camera bag that is small and goes over my shoulder, doesn't move alot when I dance and fits all the stuff I need and my camera too!

I swear, my girlfriend should start her own freakin business.

She whips up a little arm pouch thingy in a matter of minutes that co-ordinates with any outfit she desides to wear. Girls are always hounding her to find out where she bought that 'cute little thing'.

She could be a bajillionaire.

Eurotrip:

Cooper: What the hell is that?
Jamie: It's a traveler's money belt. Frommer's says if you have one of these, no-one can rob you of anything.
Scott: Except your dignity.
Jamie: No, you just put that in your... wait, what?

But seriously, do what all other girls do... have your bf carry all your shit.

I always had to strip my wallet and pockets to the essentials, so I can carry gum, satin/matt sweat powder or whatteva you call it, eye liner pencil, blistex, keys and smokes for her.

Posted by KaiLee on Apr-03-2006 17:58:

I had one of those for clubbing and it works quite well

wow!! sounds like a handy bf

haha boys i know would hold my stuff for like 1 min and give it back

I have one trusty black purse I bought at aldo and my then boyfriend didn't shut up about how small and impractical it was. But it's thin enough to fit under your arm without really noticing. It just fits perfectly between my side and my arm, and isn't big enough to stuff it full of anything that will make it bulge.

I suggest looking for something small that fits well like mine does - it's not about the style, it's about size relative to your body and where it hangs under your arm.

I do not have my BF carry my shit because I always stay out partying way later than he does.
