Review: Rev Industry Party @ The Guvernment -- April 3rd, 2006

i arrived a little after 10pm. it was pretty quiet. i was expecting it to be like this since it was a monday night. at around midnight the place was busy. a lot busier than i had expected. my guess is about 800-1000 people during the peak time.

everyone that walked through the doors got two drink tickets for complimentary bottles of rev. they didnt serve any beer so that was a bit of a disappointment for me since i dont drink rev or mixed drinks. i was stuck drinking vodka & soda (its the only drink that i can tolerate).

manzone&strong played amazing. i have never seen them play in the mainroom before but i would love to see them play there again. the crowd was eating up all the tunes that were being fed to them. almost everyone was dancing and having a great time. i didnt get a chance to check out upstairs because it seemed like everyone was flowing into the main room.

the stage setup looked pimp. the two big rev bottles made from ice looked awesome. all the screen with visuals also added a nice effect.

i noticed quite a few regulars in attendance. it was a good looking crowd. quite a few hot ladies. unfortunately there were no girls wearing tu-tu's for vivid boy.

the only complaint i have is they went a little heavy with the fog machine. made it pretty hard to take clear pics.

overall, i give the night a 8/10. im glad i decided to check it out. no regrets. now im just wondering if i will be able to make my 8am class in the morning. if i do decide to go that means i have to wake up at 6 which means i only get 2.5 hours of sleep. FUCK IT! im sleeping in.

the weather wasnt that bad. the rain had alredy stopped and the roads were dry when i left my house to go downtown.

almost went but decided not to.

i wasnt gonna go at the beginning, but ended up checking it out anyways.
wow, i didnt think that many people would show up on monday night.
music and crowd were great. but all those revs really upset my stomach.


oh yea, i was wearing my new: "Cocaina Delivery Service 24h" shirt. people came up to me asking for pills and coke lol

So, does this new Rev taste different, or is it just a repackaging?

you know what, i never tried the other one haha
im more into beer/vodka, but it tasted good

i found that it tastes better than the original blue and the red ones.
this purple one also has a slight carbonation which i dont think the other revs have. i could be wrong since i dont drink rev.

I didn't mind the blue stuff. Couldn't stand the red or green.

when you first enter the club, each person gets two free drink tickets for free...
when you needed more revs it wasnt very hard to find people that were willing to give you another... rev was flowing like water in there..

Blue revs taste MUCH better if you put a lemon/Lime in it

what would be the point of that?
it would be the same as getting a crappy tasting beer (ie. corona) and putting a slice of lime in it to kill the taste. why not just get a drink that tastes good on its own?

it still tastes like rev, with a bit of lemon/lime. It doesnt change the taste completely, just accentuates/enhances it. On its own its a bit too sweet, the lemon tones it down a bit.

i dunno.. i think rev would taste like crap no matter what you try to do to it..
plus all the sugar in it will give you nasty gut rot and hangover the next morning..

Ya, the rev hangovers are pretty bad...back when I was 19 I used to drink about 9 a night, and for a person my size, thats a lot....Id always feel like I had the flu along with a hangover...pretty nasty...

but I still like em, especially now that Ive started drinkin them with lemons!

quite a few people were telling me "i hate rev" and i would give them a confused look as they stood there drinking rev after rev and their response would be "its free".
id rather pay for drinks than consume something that i couldnt enjoy.

IT TASTES DISGUSTING BTW!! I was trashed but I woke up still drunk with a terrible hangover... Its that stuff, Guarana... Sugar,Alcohol and Caffeine do not mix... same thing happened at the Molson Kick Launch party last year at Lucid... I had the same worse hang over.

Overall it was a fun night from what I remember, at around midnight I did feel like it was a saturday night! Really good music too.

I was thinking of this, but then I knew it would be free Rev. I knew that would be bad idea, cause my Tuesdays are filled with 8am class, then work all day.

Looks like a solid night though. I want to try and hit up more of these mid-week parties in the summer.
