Whats happened to Chicane?

Chicane used to be brilliant! Even though i wasn't a fan of Dont Give it Up, the first two albums were great and now the last album "Easy to Assemble" was a big dissappointment imo compared to the other albums. And theres this new single with Tom Jones "Stoned in Love" which is not very good imo.

Whats going on?

who cares? Let him fade into oblivion already, FFS.

Maybe he took a break...

STONED IN LOVE is the new single from one of the UKs most successful crossover dance acts CHICANE, and is released on the 24 April 2006 through Globe Records / Universal

this happens to a lot of really good artists,

they produce something regarded as a milestone and then crumble under their own pressure

i think nic is just happy living off the royalties from his first album, there are so many shows on tv that use chicane tracks as backing tracks, so that'll do him nicely

he is just about to release a track in the UK with Tom Jones signing on it.

heard an interview on Radio 1 about it the other day

Hell, from what I listened to it doesn't even sound like it was produced that well.

Did nobody notice that in 1999 Chicane remixed B*Witched's 'Blame It On The Weatherman' and 'Cloud #9' by Bryan Adams? Even prior to the release of Behind the Sun he obviously wasn't adverse to a bit of pop. But that didn't extinguish his talent, and I'm sure that he'll put out something truly great again in the future even after a so-so track like Stoned in Love. Oh, and pretty much the entire Easy to Assemble album. Whoops.

It's a wonderful track but it certainly owes a lot to Hybrid's Finished Symphony.

True, but it was released on Promo in the UK and Germany, and the official website goes as far as to mention its release. Whilst it wasn't released for sale to the general public, i've seen promo copies floating around on some music sites and Ebay, so its certainly exists as a real item if you look hard enough.

Its a shame because i think there are some great tracks on the album, which never made it out into the big wide world!
