It's common knowledge that most producers get shit when they get famous.

Look at soups.

Posted by FiK on Apr-09-2006 12:22:

whens it coming out?

its more his prediction of what tunes will be 'big' in 06. most of all a money-maker though, people keep buying these cd's so good on him for capitalising on it...

all fairly new tracks
CD1 looks a tad boring
CD2 looks pretty decent to me, a cpl of banging tracks on there

interesting.. my thoughts would be the exact opposite.

cd 1 looks interesting with some nice groovy numbers, cd2 looks boring, typical uplifting crap..

Soups, while I value your opinion, i'm gonna have to say most of the prog trance junk that I hear these days is so alike. And what is it with the damn pad bassline most of them have, eek!

Jose amnesia would have to be the only decent prog trance producer going around atm.. his stuff is actually interesting. I love his fx.

Posted by Fpcookie on Apr-10-2006 04:46:

i wouldnt say cd2 is uplifting... maybe a cpl of tracks but on the whole it sounds more techy/driving to me
and yeah what dave said. i guess im just abit over that prog trance sound atm

even then his prog stuff doesn't come anywhere close to having the same emotional power that The Eternal has

i just wanna say that just because a track is slow or less than 138 bpm, does not make it prog or even prog trance.

this message does not necessarily apply to this thread and/or cd, but im getting sick of people saying markus or armin is prog trance when really its just a trance track slowed down a bit, i don't know why im saying this tho, just venting, dave's mum called in sick last night and i have pent up frustrations

Posted by Aesthetic on Apr-10-2006 06:33:

You should've asked your dad, he's always open for you.

Posted by DJ_Ballistic on Apr-10-2006 06:50:

jose amnesia is a gun.

classics aside, he has been amazing throughout the course of his career, which is why i wanted to get him on board for the Sounds of Downunder.. certainly an episode not worth missing out on

did you guys know he was the one behind Karen Overton - Your Loving Arms.....

Posted by Aesthetic on Apr-10-2006 06:52:

I did, I wasn't talking about his classics soups. Contrary to popular belief, I do listen to music post 2000.

no he's not.

In a genre of aliases with only one release, Jose Amnesia can truly be called a one hit wonder.

The Eternal, that is it. Everything else has been subpar and utterly forgettable. (No offense to Serp, because Second Day was his second best production). While the Eternal remains one of the best trance tracks produced, we will forget JA's tracks in about 6 months. Maybe I'm listening to the wrong tracks by him, but nothing has stuck out and said "Yes, I'm something good. Come and spend $17 of your hard earned money on me"

**edit - yes, I've worked out to hook my laptop up the the internet at work. Its only taken me about 4 hours.

Posted by 00soups00 on Apr-10-2006 07:12:

one hit wonder you must be kidding me.

im guessing you forgot about

Jose Amnesia - Sunset In Ibiza.

Posted by Fpcookie on Apr-10-2006 08:16:
