Down with Territories

This was mentioned before, but it just enfuriated me once again--the [stream of expletives] "territorial error" message on beatport. There's no purpose for it. I want to purchase something. Other people are buying it right now from you. Let me give you my money. Wow, frustration.

it makes sense in a way but i think if labels are gunna allow digital downloads of their tracks they should realise that physical location is irrelevant to the net

I read it just now. On the one hand, I understand why it makes sense for labels, but in the case (like this one...where only one label has Switch's Dub Mix of Want2Need2, and that label isn't selling it in the US) where those standards don't allow everyone to buy it, it seems awefully counter-productive. Sure, if it's going to give me an error message because I have to buy it from the label that bought the rights to sell it in the US, that's fine. But if the options are buy it in Europe or don't buy it at all, I've got a problem with that policy. Either sell the full rights to a track to a label, or sell it to enough different labels to cover the entire world. Don't allow one label to sell it in one place before you have anybody to cover the rest of the world.

...besides that...randomness?
