DJM600 owners

club was complaining i was playing too low last night even tho i had the master at 6 and the channel levelsl peaking at 0db. i even turned the master all the way up putting it in the red and theys till said it was too low.

the sound tech insisted it wasnt his end that was the problem and he told me there is a little screw on the back of the mixer that will make it louder if its twisted. i see the screw put dont want to fiddle with it until i know exactly what it does

They're used to assholes running it all the way into the red that's why. Just adjust the master in the back of the unit so that when you run it all the way into the red it still doesn't clip. Then have at it. Tell em to fuck themselves if they can't handle it.

Oh yea that screw in the back controls the gain. You can be clipping on the front of the mixer and turn it down to be safe or you can be slamming the mixer's master and still have it sound pants if you haven't adjusted it correctly.

You should have told the sound tech to fix it. That is his job afterall........

tell me about it. this club are a bunch of fuck wits.

i didnt even have a booth monitor last night and when i asked for one they got on like i was a fukin diva.

yes just turn the screw slightly. or tell the dick of a sound tech to make sure he has turned all his amps on

pffft, ive had to work under some dodgy conditions! I used to have to mix with a broken DJM500, the crossfader was busted coz some t0sser spilled beer all over it, plus both moniters were f****d. One night I had to use some walkman headphones (thats right - walkman headphones!) The whole setup was p1ss-poorly put together. There was a speaker at the back which would play the track I was cueing up rather than the live track (I could'nt hear it from the booth, but I was told repeatedly) I ended up having to bring my own cartrages for the decks, as they were wrecked too.

Unbelievable!

Still had a good laugh though at times.

Sounds like a place I was at the other day... With the classic DJM-600... he had a hard life and just about every knob was falling off thus forcing me to fiddle with them in the dark to get them back on... The lack of monitors didnt help the state of things either and the headphone jack was rooted forcing me to mix with one distorted can.

Someday places might acctually pull there thumb out of there anus and realise next to the bar... the music is what gets people in there and do something about it.

i would suggest telling the fucktard to fix the sound and turn on and up his amps.

Fucktard is the best word ever...

Why the fuck didn't the tech guy just up the power amps???

Posted by Psiweaver on Apr-16-2006 23:57:
