Hey mate,

First of all thanks for the comment on my track

Just listened to your track. I am not that much into psy but I do have to say there are some elements in this piece. The whining sound is superb, the melody is quite gripping. I love the original hook of you using some sort of broken violin as the main lead. I love that. Overall the energy is also pretty good. So it is a nice listen.

You need to take a look at the volumelevels a bit, the track is too loud and therefore not as pleasant a listen. Also u seem to end the track at a certain point but then u start again. My reccomendation is, no do not start it again. U had created an oroginal and great end, leave it at that It is an art to know when to end a track haha.

Cheers Lakeus!

I love the sounds in the intro. They're all so rich. What is that lead sound? It sounds like some traditional instrument.

I like the buzzing on the bassline.

1:58 was kinda confusing, rhythmically.

Nice formant filtering at 2:36. Gives a wonderfully trippy effect.

I like the key changes at 2:53.

Wow. This song is so detailed and full. There are so many things to hear. I'm just amazed.

Those strings are literally giving me goosebumps. This song just gets energy and keeps on pumping.

The breakdown feels kinda anticlimactic. I would have kept the beat going in some capacity, because the way the energy just petered out like that was a real letdown after that amazing midsection.

Heh, nice techy outro.

Yeh, definitely work on the breakdown. Something about it just felt wrong, and it was so disappointing after that breathtaking main section.

Hey lakeus,
looking forward to hearing your new tune.

so commenting as I listen...
Good intro, like someone mentioned afore, the whining sound is great. Awesome use of strings.
Kick and bass work very well on this track.
Wow. What a great atmosphere in the beginning. You've put the sounds together extremely well, in my opinion mixing is very solid here.
at 2:20 everything gets more psyish. And the Delay Lama in the background ... fortunately its only for a short time and doesnt dominate too much. (no offense against you or the Delay Lama itself but IMO its one of the most overused instruments in Psy).
4:30 is a nice passage, great crescendo towards 5:00, really dig this stuff!... maybe the melodies are getting a little heavy here, but since your track is focused on melodies its okay IMO
Oh, and then a small breakdown at that point? didnt expect that, but it works. The ending part is awesome Psy, with great FX.

Great track. Sounds like theres a lot of detailed work in this. This one will enter my playlist. If you somewhen got the time, you could send me the 320 link. Keep it up!

intro is nice sounds like a arabian war movie.

think the kick may need a bit more eq. percs are nice.

very experimental imo like the different sounds you've used. its got a real good vibe going on. dont no whats going to happen next.

its similar to my work in that you like to keep changing the track, always have new things happening. i think music like this is much more listenable.

enjoyable track mate

keep it up

hey again!
intro is good. this tune seems more my taste!

alot of nice elements in this tune but the lil melody gets a bit repetetive.

that bass sound is cool .

delay lama ^^.

your bass has a lil hiss on it .

this tune is really groovey!

i like the way you fade in the saw!

now the flute plays to nice touch.
lol flutes sounds hilarous!

i hear you have flanged the bass to.
flute sounds a bit humoristic though ^^.
pluck feels very trancey.

good job. nice tune .

Hey,
Diging the intro, pretty ethnic, Arabian&Asian feeling, it sounds nice but sounds more like music for videogames than a comercial tune imo. If you can get some ethnic vocals and add them would kick ass, interesting use of the synths, my prefered one is the sliced one, I concur about the delay lama and the break, lol is funny the sliced flute at thje break.
In overall, nice tune, would fit perfectly for a videogame, but I dont find it enought good like to use it comercially in my very personal opinion, but it's a really fun and fresh production, keep it up .
Kopi =o.

Sound like you had alot of fun doing this. Many elements and variations never makes it really boring.

not my type of trance though, but I like that its shifting alot, never gets boring.

like the synth at 7.10, if that is in the track all the time, boost it up..otherwise bring it into the track on more places. love it.

I second this. It reminds me of desert, sun and epic fights.

When listening to this, I think about Drizzt Do'Urden fighting Artemis Entreri...

good one.

Hey... thanks guys for your comments, they are very appreciated!!

Its true that I had really fun doing the track, I like mostly doing trance which totally crosses boundaries without the limits of normal uplifting trance ( structure, sounds etc. ). Im also really happy about the groove in the track which I like especially.

The track has some ethnic influences especially soundwise...

Hey Lakeus

I definately feel like some of the posters above it has a definitive eastern sound to it... which is cool cause I happen to think eastern intruments are very interesting sound wise

Anyways, those are definately some wicked strings you've got goin, loving those And i really like the vox twisting and nice use of panning.

Overall I really like this track... maybe add a little to the drums/percussion side of things... some hats or some hand played bongos type thing.. i think those would fit real well with the overall feel of the song.

great track all the same!

^ the delay lama

WOW.. im totally digging the violinlike lead in the beginning here.. i like the drive, alot of variations to keep the track interesting.. awesome breakdown.. didnt like the part after the breakdown much though.. i feel u could maybe have made the last part different..

Upcomming tune for the Arabian Nights movie soundtrack . If the producers get their heads screwed on straight, that is.

Heck, I normally don't like Arabian themes because of how different they are to my ears, but this is remarkably done. As a matter of fact, I've never played Prince of Persia, but I can somehow see this being done for that kind of game.

High energy effects, wicked synth experimentation, and powerful melody lines.

1/3s in. HOLY BUCKETS!!... that's mind warping! Dude, that's just sick beyond description. Is that the Delay Lama?

The pluck in there helps keep this track down to earth -- it's just well done that way.

The rest flows like a video-game soundtrack... grooves nice, and has some quirky changes that seem to follow a drifting perspective.

What more could a goa-adventurer, or even a soundtrack lover want?

hi, I think the mix is really good, everything sounds clean, I also really enjoyed your style, its original! I liked all the panning work and also and especially the breaks! just some of the melodies (the arranging in general) I didnt like that much, I mean theres nothing wrong with it, just my personal taste! great track!

Hey... thanks for your comments, I appreciate them!!

Subtle: Im glad that you liked the track!!

Four_On_Four-er: Yeah... it could fit some video game really well, maybe I should send it to some companies...

Nice layers to this track and some very psy-ish elements, but its not too conventional either. Lots of eastern influences too.. nice. Has that dreamlike shpongle feel to it also... I think the flute really gives that impression. Good use of reverb too throughout the track. The highs and mids sit really well.

The mixdown isnt too flash though. I think you need to work on your bassline and percussion more. The bass is very flangey or boomy and needs more attention to tighten it up. Percussion is good but could do with more fills and the kick and snare kinda dont really sing for me.

Nice work otherwise, solid psychedelic track.

Posted by Lakeus on Apr-25-2006 19:55:

Hey....

Thanks Axolotyl for your comments, I love Shpongle also.... I know I should add some more fills, Ill try to do it when Ive got time.

spectacular intro sounds....this is seriously a great intro.

Like that buzz sound that comes in right before the kick...
The kick sounds pretty good. Not sure that i'm too into the flute melody, the flute sounds pretty good, but I don't know about the melody.

When you have the longer held out notes with it, they sound really good.
those particular melodies I mean.

Like the first break, the way you bring it back in, kinda tricks you a bit. This would be a great track during the daytime to listen to.

Not sure I like that little pitch bend on the flute later. It's a pretty good track, doesn't stand out a ton to me, but good work either way.

I think maybe just a bit more variety would keep it interesting. Keep at it, sounds pretty decent, and I can't play flute at all hehe.
Thanx for sharing
