I'm moving house!!!

After living for almost 16 years in the same house, I'm gonna miss living here. I grew up here and stuff. I'm moving all the stuff this wednesday, except for the books: I need a whole day for them

Has anyone got similar stories to share? How was it when you left the house where you grew up?

I hate moving house, its the worse thing that can happen in our life!

well was for me.

Me neither - I can see a third bridge there!

congrats on the move

as for own stories, i don't get sentimentally attached to anything really... so moving had little effect on me.

[lame joke]

It must be really heavy to move your whole house by yourself :/

[/lame joke]

btw, my first move out on my own will be a tiny bit more drastic

(tiny bit=5 digit number of kilometers)

Devastating. It wasn't so much the house but the whole area in general. I'm talking about NYC of course. I left when I was about 11 years old and when I came here my first impression of florida was that everybody has a Texas accent, way too nice, and think 'damn' is a bad word. For those first 11 years of my life I've been surrounded around Hispanics and when I made the move to Orlando, there's nothing but black people in my area so I found assimilation to be hard. I was homesick a lot and missed a lot of my friends back in NYC. But that soon changed when I reached high school. Those same black people became my best friends and helped me get over my shyness. I'm now a self proclaimed bad boy pullin' chicks left and right. Alright maybe not all the time, but I'm pullin!

Having lived in various countries I have never moved such a short distance.

And yeah moving is the worse thing in the world. I don't mind going somewhere else and everything it involves ( new house friends and city ) but I really hate the packing and unpacking. It's like doomsday!

Posted by Lira on Apr-09-2006 21:24:

^^
Since I'm moving just a few kilometres away, the only problem is the packing and unpacking - however, it IS annoying enough

Talking about it, I'm packing my books now - Jesus, I never thought I had so many of them

i moved when i was 12.....i was sentimally attached to the house we got even though it was in the countryside ...moving was not that bad but what has been hard to accept was to leave a nice house to go and live in an old one my parents totally made rebuilt by workers....but im glad to live there now rather than in the countryside

watch out for vampires in the new house

My dad is an architect here in Chicago so we would get a deal on a new developement, move in, build the houses, move on. I think I've lived in around 8-9 houses.

I've had 5 apartments here in Chicago so far... moving into a condo in the next month or so.
