Yes, I read their disclaimers and all I can see are references to some weird Russian laws.

i'm tempted to buy the nu nrg album its only $2.20

if its legal i'll buy

but then again i'm not risking my credit card there!!!

Those are prices for 192kps encoding.

Posted by pvdclubber on Apr-10-2006 19:35:

just seen that, pcm or flac prices should be reasonable to though

allofmp3 is a pirate music shop. They illegally sell copies of artist albums (legal according to Russian law, but otherwise illegal elsewhere). The artists, labels etc. see nothing of the money.

Edit:
Correction: the artists see a little bit of the money, otherwise it would be illegal according to Russian law (you can imagine how much for an album price of $2, the artists and their labels haven't been asked for their permission to sell the albums).

It is not (yet) illegal to buy from allofmp3 (the normal buyer does not know about the complex situation with allofmp3.com, so he can't be made responsible for buying from them online).

Russian law ftw!

Posted by Spartan on Apr-10-2006 20:43:

Lets go to Russia and start a company selling these albums for $1.50.

Posted by Djeebie on Apr-10-2006 21:17:

www.mp3search.ru is another site based in Russia. Russian law permits this kind of business, but it is kinda dodgy. I don't trust them. Especially with my creditcard

---psssttt...I heard they can afford their hanky-panky by selling organs...but psssst---

I've used this site for a little while - deposited $50 on three different occasions and its worked fine for me. to get cd cquality it is usually double the price. But I read some reviews before I signed up and have no problems since then.

The problem is, what are the artists getting for this? These people are pocketing the money, and the people who've worked their asses off for making the tracks get nothing. Legal or not, it's immoral and I'd rather pay more & know the money was going to the guy who made it.

there's another shite russian based mp3 shop called mp3spy.ru. They're selling mp3s downloaded straight from p2p

That's true I hadn't thought about that. I figured they paid someone to put it up there- kind of how on Napster you can download how every much you want a month for whatever their fee is. I thought it might be kind of like that... I don't know much about Russian laws though.

Yeah, I used to use that when it was free, because there was stuff on there you would never find. They had really rare Juno Reactor singles and stuff like that.
