San Francisco record shops...
yep.. im gonna be in san francisco for a few days... i was thinking that i might be able to check out a record shop or two while im out there....
any suggestions? (yeah.. i figured i'd ask the dj booth forum over the west coast forum... my guess is that there are be more people that check here more often that could be able to help me...)
edit - oh yeah... also tried to search this.. but the search button is apparently on the fritz...
check out amoeba on the haight for used records...can find some gems for less than 5 bucks...reverb is right across the street, theres skills dj workshop over in berkeley which i think is pretty damn good. also check out virgin megastore in downtown sf...can find some pretty decent stuff
Reverb has got to be one of the best record shops I have been to!
yeah skills is good.
Amoeba doesn't have a whole lot of EDM 12", to be honest, but it's fun to dig through. You can find some good stuff, but it takes time, and it's not a treasure trove of dance vinyl like it is for some CDs.
Reverb is small, but has a broad selection, with lots of good trance. They really pack records into that place. Recommended.
Yeah, Reverb on Haight and Skills DJ Workshop over in Berkeley are your best best.
Skills is run by Dyloot, 1/2 of Deep Voices.
cool. chances are i'll be able to visit all of those... i'll make sure to have a status report when i get back...
Ooh, this thread works out nicely. I'm in San Fran right now visiting family. Hopefully I can break off for a bit and pick up one or two records.
