all i know..is that the andromeda has alot of damn tweaking knobs....and the V Synth..is fracking expensive. I think i rather buy a Virus TI if i had the money.

I have the Vsynth XT, and it is amazing! I have only played with Andromeda a bit in the store so I really can't compare them for you, but it also depends what you are looking for. The XT you can load your own samples and do some amazing things with them, where the Andromeda is a true analog synth with no sampling as far as I know.

Know that although the XT is 16 part multi timbral, you can only edit the patch on channel 1 via the touch screen LCD and the effects are global. I am not sure how the Andromeda handles that, but with 16 voices I'd expect you can't use too many parts at once anyway.

I want an Andromeda ever since ever. I want true analog! But I need to find one! AND I NEED $800!

I think you'll need a bit more than $800, unless you mean you already have $1200 saved up.

I agree, I made sure I had a virus first, and I find that I use that more often. The V-Synth can make some crazy sounds that the TI cannot though, so I do find it very useful. I have alot to learn with it though.

They're two different synths...

One is an analogue synth, and a damn good one at that.

The V-Synth doesn't really hold a candle, but if you need ANOTHER VA synth go for it...

Hmm..about the V-Synth..doesnt it have Supersaw?..if so..would it be worth just getting that synth instead of the JP8080?..besides the price of course :P

Same engine, updated code.. meaning it is NOT the same supersaw as the JP's supersaw (whether it's better or not is a matter of opinion I guess).

Andromeda A6.

A6 any day of the week, and twice on Sunday..

UNLESS you don't have much gear already, in which case use the $2k You're gonna spend and buy a whole collection of cool, if smaller oys. Ultimately you will get better results..

I dont know why you guys keep saying 2K for andromeda, it's on SALE right now for 1000 Less at steves and it is $3000 while on sale..

anyways yea,,im debating between xt's interesting features, and the analog beauty, and wondering why i am not feeling TI

I have the V-synth keyboard , the virus b and have played with the andromeda.

The vsynth has the most programming depth of these 3, its probably the cheapest ($1300 on ebay for new a few weeks ago) and covers so many uses it easily the best choice for all around use.

I seriously think many people that don`t under stand what the V can do assume its a fancy VA but the sampling abilites along with its programmable arp, step sequencer make it golden.

I like my virus, i have some beutiful patches on it i have made but the V can reproduce anything the virus or the andromeda can do. i also have a jp8080 and i swear you can make the supersaw on the V sound as convincing as the JP supersaw.

The virus TI is the most expensive and probably the least flexible.

The v-synth also has 2 expansion cards available, one for turning it into a D50 FM synth with all the D50 presets and another vocal designer card that lets you mess with vocals , choirs and other related things.

Dont let anyone tell you the V is over priced and under featured, it took me about 6 months to learn how to get the best out of it, although if you judge a synth by flipping through factory presets and dotn want to program the sounds yourself you will probably find the virus the best for you.

If you want unique soundscapes and dont mind putting time in to get them the V-synth is the absolute best choice!

He is asking about the V-Synth XT, which actually already has the 2 V-card expansions built in(you can switch to the D50 or vocal designer w/o power cycling). The XT also has USB streaming audio & MIDI. The MIDI is nice to not have to use a separate interface, but I don't ever use the streaming audio.

I agree, the V-Synth's sampling capabilities really sets it apart from any other synth. It is really easy to load them via USB and you can do some amazing things with them. It's pretty cool to get samples from remix contests and load them on there and mess around with them. I haven't even scratched the surface of what this thing can do, but it really is the way to go if you want to make sounds that are unique and not possible with anything else.
