[DarkPsy] Cybernetika - Patterns of Chaos (2006 remake) [320kbps, not finished]

Hey,
I am currently working on this remake of my older track "Patterns of Chaos". This one is dark, raw Psy with a heavy kick and bass combo, like the original version was. Yes, it sounds very raw and noisy; I intended that. I however feel totally uninspired about the track structure. I think I got some good sounds, but I could still use some suggestions about the structure, if you like it that way or not.

"Patterns of Chaos 2006"
Length: 8:53
Filesize ~20MB
Bitrate: 320kbps
Eqipment: FL Studio 6, ReFX Vanguard (for the bassline), Linplug Albino (for the weird FX and synthlines, also the main "lead"), Spectrasonics Atmosphere (for the ambience), rgc z3ta+ (that massive DarkPsy FM sound).

enjoy!

listening:

nice intro.. kick and bass is nice.. percussions are great and driving.. nice wierd effects.. 2:00 and everything sounds perfect so fine.. nice robotic effects.. i love those wierd effects u bring in.. 3:16, more chaos , 3:40 nice bass change..

5:30 everything still sounds mint and no complains..

i would have brought back all the percussions and added nack the part in between 1:00 and 2:00 back.. before just taking out all elements one by one..

excellent work though

Hey

Listening - nice industrial sounding intro, nice beat too, bass is cool and rolling.
Percussions are cool as well, if a little hissy.
I like the bass changes you do, and those vocal effects are very cool.
The track is definitely a journey, very trippy stuff you make, the effects in the background are excellent.
Rick

Hey Ricky, cheers for the comment. Maybe I will make the hat section a little less hissy. We'll see about that.

intro is like something out of a horror movie.

your music would work well at love parade. from listening to the event before this would fit right in.

bass is good alothough you could make it a bit warmer. melodies are dark and interesting. liking this. the kick sounds like the same as your last track. do you use the same kick for all your tracks?

you have sounds in there that sound like prodigy - charley. did you sample them?

nice track mate and well put together.

keep at it!

Phantastic evil intro by the king of dark-psy.

Industrial psy, that's where I see your primary nitch at.

I'm with the less-hissy on the hat section... probably should be tamed just a tad.

Otherwise, you still have my support on the track's compliments.

You've got a new bassline now - and this is more Goa-ish, which to me is, well, a tad departure from the mood I was initially enjoying. This is only an opinion, nothing more. After a while, I just accepted it without complaint.

The track definately progresses. It's proggy-psy-industrial-dark trance !

Now the middle break... the conveyer belts are having trouble initializing again. Damn those lunch breaks. Damn it, Cy, you have a talent in the sound-creation department. You psy producers sure know how to make synthesizers sound totally alien.

One thing I like about the middle breakdown is the fact that it returns to the source of the track. You say that you are having a problem with the arrangement -- since I don't listen to enough psy to tell, the theme of your track is consistent, and progresses without problem. The middle breakdown and the elements afterwards are a testiment to this.

The melodies are almost non-existent, which is nice for psy.

I hear the remainder of this track and think of a sci-fi setting with a robotics factory. There's alot of angry droids turning on the world of the living.

Im listening as I write.. wow, great intro really dark.. nice bassline change at 2:24, everything getting deeper, more elements coming in, now at 3:40 everything is chaos, dark full-on, really nice! at 4:10 there is the usual psy break, dont know if I enjoyed this passage...at 5:30, I really liked that kind of crying acid synth in the background, but this part have lots of elements at the same time, and with the reverbed hi-hats together everything sounds a little dirty (it gets hard to listen to details of each element)..at 6:00 evrything sound better now, the main synth stands out from the rest, and things are growing again..standard ending...this review was more a djs point of view (I used to be a psy dj) cause as a producer you are a step ahead of me for sure! but as a dj I think I would play easily this tune at a party, everything sounds pro IMHO, except the mastering quality (it still sounds a little dirty) but thats comparing to to the best producers! thanks for sharing!
PS: Im sorry about my english, hope you understand!

Hey, Four_on, EDO and Kane, thanks a lot for your feedback. I'm really glad I got such detailed feedback from you.

And no, I dont use the same kick for all the tracks ... but I admit I have a few kickdrum samples I favor.

thatt bassline is almost a classic now .
intro is great. a bassline change?
the percs you used here are to low.
another basschange, it sounds really cool!
the vocal bitt thing is cool.

overall its a good track!

i think i havent heard original, starts off pretty good, those hi hats sound a little too distorted for my taste, 1:32 is just pure fucking psy trance, i so dig it, sounds like its been stuck in my head and now when i heard it, i remembered it that it was there, really weird...

mmmk, very good, altho i should suggest this, instead of boosting your frequencies, CUT THEM instead with eq, remember, it is better to cut than to boost rock on dude

P.S. 1:32.. it is the magic spot

Posted by Majutsu on Apr-15-2006 04:44:

i like the dark, swirly beginning. strong percs and bass. i like the hats, almost industrial. overall, a dark, gritty feel i enjoy. many of the sounds have a metallic, robotic feel which is cool. keeps interest well. a solid work. i enjoyed it. good job!

/me listens to cybernetika - patterns of chaos 2006 [00:23 of 08:53m/320Kbps/44KHz]

Just got around to listening to this baby. (I've had it downloaded for a few days now.)

A good mindfuck. Great work Cyber.
Seriously, I made the mistake of skipping around in the track with my headphones on too loud, and i felt like my brain would melt.

Fantastic work. The only thing I might suggest is maybe... subduing your highs abit, BUT it is called "patterns of chaos" so I would expect a certain amount of angry evil sounding brash and grindy noises.

Sounds good.

Nice intro so far...setting the mood I suspect.
Like the kick bassline combo, they sound good together...just a tad muddy but very good, maybe just a bit of compression to seperate them a little, I dunno.

I like the little bits of teasing and trickery going on.

Very nice bassline change up on the first one. Like the synth that comes in at that part. I think that you could tweak it even a bit more and get it really crazy...but we'll see if that happens after a bit.

Bassline changed again...good change. Like the vocals all over the place. You definately are keeping it interesting.

I agree with others the hats could have a bit less distortion, I think that it would still be plenty filthy if you took a bit off.

At the break down around 4:30 now...
Very metalic, really like the voice fading back and forth when it comes back in. Good way to bring it back in btw. A little more teasing there I can here.

Back to the other bassline again. I still think that the crazy fm sounding synth could get a little crazier, maybe running it through some opossing band pass filters and recording some live movements would do the trick.

Some times when it changes up it sounds like it overloads a bit, I'm not sure if it's purposefully like that or not, but I think it sounds kinda strange in a couple spots.

Really dig the overall track, thanx for sharing. I'm not usually into dark stuff much but I really really dig anything thats done well. So maybe I've just heard too much bad dark stuff. Anyway, thank you for sharing and keep up the good work man.

As usual, intro is good and spacy.

Awww, I was expecting some epic, trippy goa lead at 5:00. :P This works, too, though. Although, it'd be cool to have some of those later distorted rhythmic leads coming in at that point.

There's a very dirty, techy feel to the whole thing.

It's interesting that you choose such a muffled kick. That really lets the sonic madness in the effects section go crazy.

This one's really nice. I like it.
