Raquela...
I'd like to try and introduce myself to everyone here, so here goes nothin'...
I'm not new to the stage, that's for sure...
Started out as a kid in the business, 25 years experience...
...but NOT in the Music Industry, that's why I consider myself a new artist.
I still got a lot to learn, so your thoughts are very much welcomed.
I may have a big heart but my mind is not too sensitive and is always open to your thoughts...
I'm a Trance/Dance Vocalist and Lyricist artist... (I am not a producer, although i have the greatest respect for them. Without them, I have nothing to sing or celebrate)
I've got live performances lined up right now. Nothing confirmed yet but I'll do my best to let you know when they happen.
Best way to keep up on me is at...
http://www.myspace.com/raquela
(My home website is in my signature below...)
I have over 20 tracks you can hear on the internet, however, they are old. A lot has happenned to me in the past 5 years now. I have 2 newly signed tracks. 1 is getting played on major radio stations. I have 10 more new ones that are not even released yet! These are solid productions! (In comparison to my old ones up to the public.) I feel I've come a long way....
My mission it to continue to keep the art form alive by playing the part of the Vocalist/Lyricist/Performer. And benefit any radio/club DJ's or producers here who are looking to get the respect they deserve. I wanna help keep TRANCE alive!!!!
...talk to me!!!
(p.s. Thank you Brian for getting me here!)
Andain in 10 years from the myspace pics
So are you just an EDM vocalist or something?
My only thought is on the DanceTRANCE thingy (Why don't you have real titles anyway?), I can barely hear your voice when the instruments fade in. I believe it's called bad mastering.
OK, this is great...
Hold on guys,
let me update my message above...
My appoligies, I wasn't too clear on a few things...
...thanks!
I'm so excited guys!
I'm getting booked at the Copa in NYC.
The Copa doesn't support Trance but the Latin community does, so I'm seeing this as a huge opportunity!
You seem optimistic and passionate, and you're getting a nice lift off I think, so good luck to you and keep us updated!
You seem so happy and like "omg"!
Omg!

Hey Groundhog Boy,
no man, you're not being rude...
Actually, I'm not too worried about attendance. There's alredy an RSVP of 1200 people! I have a feeling it has to do with the the billing line-up scheduled. I'm just saying that it's important for me to work hard keeping my face fresh in the Latin community. My main genre of choice as a singer/writer/colaborator is Trance!

Are you retarded? She wants feedback and tips, man.

Look man, she's trying to evolve, and she mentioned that a few times.
Of course her posts works as self promotion too, that's completely natural, but she's not solely trying to "widen her circle of fans", if you're asking me. She's credible.

Now, I'm a see it, believe it type of guy- But you guys are right, i should give her the benefit of the doubt. Plus shes a girl, you all will defend a girl no matter what things she has said or done on the forum. The real trick for me will be if she properly posts outside of this thread.
However I do agree, my comments may have been slightly too harsh.

You have no idea how important all this is to me, most importantly, how educational as well...
Allied Nations has every right to say what he feels, yes.
But I have to admit, when I read Rainborns replies, yeah, I was relieved that someone took the time out to read all I wrote and then stick up for me. So, I guess I am a little weak. Me? Here just to self promote? I don't know how that got misconstrued but then typing out my feelings had always sucked for me. That's why I'd rather sing my words instead...LOL!...
Out of fairness to all, let me attempt to get into detail ...
I noticed that some of you have been here since Dec 2001! Allied Nations joined Mar 2004. I just got here! My point is, we are constantly looking for a place we can identify with, belong to and then we are quick to defend it! I understand that, I respect that, I never forget that, but Ive also moved on. Now I'm ready to collaborate and change the world! Anything is possible and Trance keeps me feeling like that!
When Brian referred me here, (tranceaddict.com group leader at myspace and an admin here) I was frustrated. I wasn't tripping over enough Trance artists (producers) who were ready to move Trance up the line. I've been listening to a lot of the "new school" Trance happening in Europe right now. OMG! It's close to what I'm trying to do, as a vocalist/writer with Trance! (and yes Allied Nations my luv, I said "OMG"! LOL!)
When I joined tranceaddict.com on Wednesday, my intentions were to find professional, constructive criticism by professional artists that are already transforming Trance today and to find new solid collaborations. After taking some time out reading this board and researching the producers who are members here, I know now that tranceaddict.com is the right place to be!
Out of fairness and respect to you all, I will also admit that I have just started to be able to make a living out of this As a Trance and Dance performer/singer/recording artist. Shoot, I better be! After all, I worked hard going to school getting a friggin degree in basically.... entertainment Im still trying to pay off the damn school loan and unfortunately, in order to be able to afford continuing doing this, I have to perform! So marketing is necessary. Yeah. But cmon, if my posts come across as only self-promotional purposes here, then whatever. I'm an artist who's trying to find her place in what she relates to. Trance. Weather I'm female or male is irrelevant. Weather I'm Latin or Asian is irrelevant. Weather I'm American or from Iraq is irrelevant. I just hope my words speak for themselves. "...we are constantly looking for a place we can identify with, belong to and then ... defend it!..."
C'mon guys, lets have some fun here!
Let's discuss and make new music!
Selena of Trance
Welcome to the boards Raquela!! I'm glad you took my advice and joined....you will find tranceaddict a very resourceful place to talk about music (and not JUST trance) and make friends. Just beware of the young know it alls on here so it might take awhile for them to warm up to you. Good luck with your gig @ Copa!!
