Mesh-Purple Haze

despite how unique this song is too me....what are your opinions on it?

I'm also looking for songs similar to it...

A really, really great tune that's completely ruined by the nonexistent percs and beat, sadly

it's decent. a bit overrated but still not bad

You should like Tillman Uhrmacher - On The Run (Ocean to Shore Extended Club Mix) as it is pretty similiar. One of my favourite tracks, without a doubt.

I think it's a beautiful piece of trance and one of those tunes you can play people who say trance isn't "proper" music. I appreciate what you're saying about the drums though as they could do with a bit more punch. To be fair, they still come through nicely on a club system.

I love this tune a lot and fell in love with it when I heard it on the Ferry Corsten cd Live @ Spundae. Now that I own it on vinyl it is one of those tunes I throw in the mix when I may wanna mellow things out a little bit but keep the energy going.

Hehe, just got it a couple of weeks ago too!
I also got Rapid Eye - Stealing Beauty, also on that live mix.

where did you get it at?

I checked Gemm but I think it's a bit overpriced....

This is an utter classic. Great track. Simple, but effective.

i can't even rember how this one goes. i never thought much of it at all. from mesh i much prefer persuasion! i gotta listen to this again to remember how it goes now.

Wicked tune. It's on the Paul van Dyk Mixmag CD from August 2003.

pvd's rework is the best version of it. since he sorted out the missing parts (percussion,stronger beat). good tune tho

I didn't think it was that rare - I just bought it for �4 a month ago and in mint condition

Yes, one of my alltime favorites. Nice intro, good hook and a perfect break. Trance as it should be. Mesh - Purple Haze is one hell of a track. Damn, those were the times....

great tune... i wouldn't call it a classic tho

Love this tune, the melody rocks, and I think the beat is fine, pretty standard trance beat if you ask me. But this is a track driven more by melody then by beat, I don't think every trance track needs a really booming bassline or really heavy beat like harder stuff or more beat driven music like breakbeat, DnB, hip hop or techno and hardcore is. Just as long as it's still danceable, i'm okay. I have the vinyl of it, but it's warped . I'll get the WAV of it so i'll be okay.

Exactly why I like this piece. And like I said, it's a great tune to play if you wanna keep the pace going but at the same time set yourself up for a chiller trance tune to mix in.

This used to be my favourite trance track for ages after i first heard it, it's a classic for me.

Im going to sell all my vinyl soon and this happens to be part of my collection if your interested...
