-- Why does everything sound like Rank 1 - Airwave? LOL
OK check out these two tracks, Cascade - Altitude, Blank and Jones - Beyond Time (especially in PvD's mix at Mark Spoon's Birthday posted here). LOL everything sounds like Airwave....
cuz uve been listening to commercial SHIT??
Yes, all these commercial "trance makers" produce the same thing slightly different. They do that over and over again just for some easy money. They want a part of the succes so they just kinda copy the style/tune etc...
Also check the post about ATB for a view on that
Heh people have this *thing* against anything commericial. I liked ATB's stuff way before it got popular. I feel that if I like it the first time I heard it, a track being "commercial" won't change my mind about liking it. And I do like all three tracks mentioned above, even though they are pretty damn similar.
Hey P00F try to listen to all of the Darude songs.. youll probably think that you accidently put the first track on repeat. But its just the whole cd... 2 bad...
Darude's gay that's all I have to say. Remeber I said if I liked it on the first listen I won't change my mind about it? Well I hated Sandstorm the first time I heard it and was somewhat dissappointed that Paul van Dyk played it on his Mayday 2000 set.
Why you say Sandstorm suck, it doesnt suck it sound diff from alot of other stuff out there..
Its often this kind of elitism I keep seeing. Its kind of sad really, why can't I enjoy "commercial" trance? I enjoy all kinds of music, and I truly mean all kinds... Yet somehow if I enjoy something commercial I have bad taste??
Everybody has different tastes, we all need to appreciate and respect each others own unique views... Music is afterall a passion and something very personal... So everybody is different and thus we have very diverse views on music...
I just bothers me when I say something like "I like this track" and I hear someone litterally get upset over that fact, like the typical "WHAT, how can you like this shit, are you a moron?"
We've all heard this before and its quite insulting since our own personal music taste is very much about our life experience and yourself.
I guess what I'm trying to say is just chill out, getting upset at Rank 1, or Darude, etc... Is a waste of time, if you don't like it fine, but don't push your tastes on others just because you don't like a certain track/artist.
Cheers,
Thor..

I know what your saying, but this will always happen in any kind of music... They can co-exist and they do.. Darude is not great, we all know that, but there are people who love him and thats fine too... I just won't call them idiots for their point of view, even though I don't agree with them.
My rant really wasn't at anyone in particular, its just something I had to get off my chest...

I agree with Thor on this one: so-called "commercial" trance amy not be all that fantastic or even very original, but a lot of it isnt too bad. Granted, more underground stuff is much better, but, ATB was good (the two worlds CD pisssed me off) Alice DeeJay has some good stuff (mostly the remixes, but hey...) and damnit, Rank 1 - Airwave is really good (especially the ATB mix), but you know, to each his own.
ummm........
ok....I just listened to Cascade - Altitude, and I am going to say that while, i enjoyed listening to it, it IS exactly like Airwave, so I really dont know where I stand on this issue. I mean, yea, it sounds prety and all, but I mean, it really needs some sort of variety
