Review: Guetta at Lot332- April 13th

My first ever review thread.

A very fun night! So, this night came out of left field for me, wasnt planning on going out at all but late in the game I figured "fuck it, ive got 3 days off afterwards". Im very glad I decided to go. Good, good times.

bullet style yo:
- arrived to a very confusing line up outside. thank god I ran into Tara (and Lars!) who continued pulling the strings they were tugging at with the bouncers and got us in right away, for less. Very nice timing. I wouldve been stranded like a jackass otherwise.

- sick sick anthem tunes from the moment I walked in. the warm up dudes (remi? and ???) were fucking tearing the place apart, the crowd was going bonkers!

- Lovely company, us decadence castaways made a great little night for ourselves, no where else I would have liked to be.

- Guetta was on fire. Well, mostly for the first few hours I couldnt stop dancing then he got a little melodramatic and repetitive towards the end. He loved every second of it which is so awesome to see from a dj. It wouldnt matter if he had a sour face on all night but the fact that he loved it, made me love it more. What a showman.

- Um Jeff, remember how we were talked into going? and how the last half hour or so was just you and I dancing! LOL, fucking floorwhore was polishing that dance floor last night!

- the night went by so goddamn fast and I feel like ten thousand things happened, weird.

My fav memory: I arrive, say hello to everyone and decide to go to the washroom. after about 2 minutes of waiting in the ladies line up I hear "World, hold on" coming in. I just went apeshit. I barrelled my way through the crowd, pushing people trying to get there faster, wtf. Little did I know, Jon told everyone "watch Hilary's gonna hear this track and come running back going insane". Sure enough, cue yours truly on a fucking mission to rock out, runs into a sea of people laughing their asses off just waiting for me! so funny.

A fantastic night indeed, until next time mes amis! Hil xoxo

ps. I danced my arse off in heels, and made it all night

Here is your belt. You are now a part of a select club. You must wear this belt to every gig moving foward.

PS - Glad to hear you danced your butt off. I hope it glues back on.

WEIRD NIGHT MAN!

- David vs. Remy prior to Gooey were fucking killer. lol They played like 40 anthems back to back but I'm sorry it was great. I was dancing pretty hard well before Guetta was in the building...

- Guetta was awesome, a little bit better than his previous Lot performance. SO CHEESY, but always well done. A true entertainer, and you can just tell he loves the music. I can probably ID 15+ songs if I sit down and let my brain compose itself.

Very solid night indeed, good tunes, good friends, good times.

LOL

Turns out we were obviously in need of going out eh? fuck.

Started the night out at my place with a few of the 'non-decadent', with some pre-party booze and beats. I apologize for my lack of socializing, I was in pure dj mode right up until we left for Lot :P.

Got there around 11 to a pretty empty club. Lots of vagino's standing around in anticipation, waiting to hear 'The World is Mine'. Remy and David were on when we got there, and these guys definately did not play what you would call a typical 'warmup set'. The tunes were ALL massive, big-room anthem shit, and by midnight the place was completely going off! It almost felt like they were using the opportunity to take center stage, and showcase themselves rather than warmup the main act. But seriously, it didnt matter because the last halfhour of their set was probebly the best chunk of the night IMO.

Guetta came on just before 1am, and being my first time seeing him I didnt really know what to expect. With all the 'cheese' comments being thrown around when it comes to him, I was actually surprised to hear what he played. Sure, borderline fromage at times, but overall just wicked big room house, and lots of exclusive re-works (im sure from his miami appearances). I was feelin the tunes all night long, for the exception of maybe a half hour towards the end where he got very repetitive and depressing lol. He had a look on his face from around 4:00 until 4:30 where he looked like he just saw his mother get shot in the head. Maybe bad pills ? Anyways, he seemed to snap out of it just in time to close the night out in style. Hil, we totally fuckin rocked it at the end lol. Wicked.

Came back to my place with a small crowd, and ended up playing an after party set from 6 - 10. lol. Sorry Jon for not getting your calls, I didnt find my phone until after the debauchary.

See you all on the 29th.... i am NOT going out until then.

lol I'd concur, their last half hour and gooey's first half hour was so retarted.

Remember once that bassline from Hard-Fi came in Gooey's manager looked at David and went "hoooly fack" as the crowd was fucking shaking that place. LOL That place went off for that one hour SO hard.

I think we all worn ourselves out by 3:30, including David. I danced SOO hard, wow.
