Your very first mix?

The first 2 songs i ever tryed to mix were cafe del mar and for an angel on my frineds decks. as u can imagine, it sounded rubbish! when i got my own decks i was practicing for about 2 months with no success, i just cudnt seem to get the beats in time! i was close to giving up, but then it happened: i was playing bedrocks remix of new order - crystal, and i decided to try and mix in slusnik luna - sun, since the beat in both is really defined. it wasnt going well, until i started playing aroud with the eq's. i put the treble and middle of sun down to min. and the bass up to max., so a the only thing i cud in the earphone was the beat. it was that moment, it was like something clicked inside my head, and after about 30 seconds of playing the pitch, i had the mix perfect! wot i cant understand is how it came to me so suddenly... anyone had expieriences like this?

Well, lots of time wasted there... The best thing to do .. atleast for me.. when starting out would be to try and mix House music rather than trance.. House beats are slower and perhaps more "refined" ? Do it until it become an easy thing to do and then go on to trance... Make it so that once u release he record it stays matched without u having to give it a push or so again..

it's all just a matter of being able to decipher which beat is slower and be able to speed it up, or slow it down to make the beat match. practice.

System F - Cry (Dot NL Mix)

It wasn' the best mix but the beats were perfectly matched and it felt great.
