weird request...

I'm sure im not the first to ask this:

My sis and I were at decadence and had a great time, we party quite a bit together. Came home for easter, and whilst in the basement was playing some tunes and kinda dancing around. My mom came downstairs and said in a very stern tone "alright enough of this, when are you guys bringing me out?"

lol

alright so she keeps asking to come out... and i keep saying no... but its having the opposite effect... she asks more often...

suggestions?

obviously guv. is out of the question, my parents think im weird enough as is....

i just can't imagine bring her out... but am almost going to just out of sheer resignation...

Posted by lexclu on Apr-15-2006 23:02:

im 24

she's 51

Posted by Mag1k on Apr-15-2006 23:03:

do it.... bring her to guv. Theres tons of older people.

or if you want to take her to a less sketchy, semi normal place, take her to This Is London.

Posted by TranceGrooves on Apr-15-2006 23:04:

bring her to guv for above and beyond. she will be the TOTA honouarary guest and stuff. jus keep her away from this guy named Fahad. he is a bit of a nutcase.

Parents don't get what they're signing up for with these questions - but you could still take her somewhere loungey. She's probably more interested in the music you listen to rather than the being-out-til-6am part.

Take her to a more loungey event with your friends. My mum was thrilled to come hear me spin at IV lounge last fall - some of my friends were there, she got to have a drink and sit down and hear the music I spin without being subjected to all of the unsavoury elements of the afterhours life.

It was great!

I am going to say the following: This is London, Brant House and Lot 332....they are kinda dressier, slightly snooty, more "mature" I guess...I assume you are looking for a club that plays a rather generic mix of popular music not just edm....Those clubs are generally "clean" not too many crackouts there...prepare to dress in a manner that is very trendy....

personally if you are afraid to scare your mom into a fullout Guv experiance, why not just enter through the Drink, it is slightly more subdued, and dress is expected to be more trendy than the regular room...and that way you can always escape to the main room.

Those are my thoughts...

This Is London (not as sketchy as the Guv - nice space - plays good EDM on fridays - I would take my mom there....she's 53).

my suggestion....

yeah this is London is a good idea. Something with a little more "class" to it. Their Sat's are 25+ (but puts a problem for you)

LOL because once they meet me they forget about Trancegrooves LOL!

Dude, I think that's really cool that your parents want to party! I went to Emma's farewell party a few months ago and Richard Taylor's (a TA) mother came along to the restaurant where we had a DJ booth setup with house playing all night. She was bobbing her head with the music and I was thinking that so cool that parents still have that youthful spirit and genuinely want to connect with the younger generation!!! Unfortunately, my parents restrict my urge to come out and party!

Definitely bring her out, but I guess it could be awkward to have to look after her all night long!!! That's funny how the tables would turn!!!

P.S. Tyler next time I see you I'm gonna kick your ass.

Do you know anything about what your your mom was like when she was your age??? Did she go to discos'? or rock festivals? That might be a good medium to use when breaking things down to her.

Posted by Cosmic Fur on Apr-16-2006 00:13:

haha.

My mom's the same way.

So do all moms want to party then?

Posted by The Wiz on Apr-16-2006 00:16:

"my mom want to party all the time, party all the time, party all the tiiimmmme!"

Posted by TranceGrooves on Apr-16-2006 00:28:

heres an idea.

we shud organize a event outside of club just for our parents have local djs spin a bit of everything and let the parents go nuts.

i wud love to see a father of a trancehead get into it with a mother of a househead .... trance > house or vice versa
lmao.
