You really think this is going to be good?

Posted by Zombie0729 on Apr-16-2006 16:46:

there are a lot of people goin to this... talk to Art from BP for all the details though.

In fact they have a myspace and website:

http://www.myspace.com/eamc_us

I think it will not be thast good. Everyone goes back to school, people have shot their load due to Labor Day, people are saving for Halloween and Xmas and it just seems like half assed.

I can be totally wrong and I hope so, but it just seems in my eyes that it will be mediocre at best.

I hope i am wrong as it means more buisness and fun for all of us.

If this starts shaping up to be halfaway decent, I'll definatley go visit my peeps out therr and swoop on a couple performances. Keep us posted!

but I guess there will be some powerful people there.

I voted for Sasha & Digweed

Once I get a better idea of what is going on and who is going to be there I might have a reason to go to Vegas.

Posted by Orbital32 on Apr-16-2006 20:17:

well i might reserve rooms for vegas. Because "ironically" it's also around the time that the loveparade is as well. If it's good we got a place to hide our stuff. If it sucks i can cancel the reservation. whatta you guys think?

it's just odd, all of them played at WMC.

plus I heard from a little bird that Global Gathering will be happening in Las Vegas during Labor Day week end. If it does all those aritis should most likely play again. Maybe this time Global can add Woody since he has major pull on the West Coast X2

Let me see if thses guys can add his name to the list too or maybe I can get my own poll going, thoughts?

I'm trying to see who is behind the event and I can't find anything. There's a lot of info on the site but in contrast to the Summer Music Conference site, it's seems to be a whole lot of what to expect, but no details on who to expect it from.

The SMC goes into details about the organizers which makes its potential look very promising, IMO. A lot of experience in who is throwing it which is very essential. But it doesn't go into much other details. Although, they do say it's the west coast answer to M3/WMC with a different focu=s.

In the end...I just hope to god the Vegas one doesn't get big because I don't want to ever have to deal with the Vegas elitist crowds. I'd rather it be down in LA.

it is one of the GM's of Empire and a few promoters trying to make it happen. I hope they can get something good on the West Coast going but I just do not see one week end in Vegas equiveling a 5 day confrence in a nice sunny area with beachs and a shit load of pools.

We will see I guess, who know maybe it will rock

It also seems that the SMC is during the same month which means even more dilution.

neither of these events mean anything until we see dj line-ups and party schedules...

Well I wish them all good luck as if it does turn out good it makes the scene even stronger which is what most of us want for it anyway.

Power to the people, especially Woody!

I met this guy Bo in Miami at WMC where he was promoting the hell out of the 'Vegas Music Conference' claiming that it was going to be better, way better than WMC. He said that the 'emerging artists' would get to play some of the best clubs in Vegas during the week and that the "Ultra-type event" (held on the Saturday) would be held at the football stadium at the UNLV campus...

He did say that he was working with the guys who run and/or own Empire in Vegas.

This is his website-- http://www.botown.com/site/

i wouldn't put 'emerging artists' and 'better then WMC'at the same level. I mean it's really cool for the artist, but i can't see it compare to WMC by any means. Everything about miami was amazing, the beach, the clubs, the people. You don't normally see half naked girls walking around the streets as much as miami!!

Hahahaha I wish I would play at Global! Even better if it was in Vegas. That would be a great excuse to pop my Vegas cherry. I have never ever ever been to Vegas in my life!

I agree. I think the weather will be just cold enough too that the pools will not be a good as the summer and people will look like Zombies after a few days from being out all night. As we all know more than 2 days in Vegas is actually hell and you are sucking wind from the first night you get there. At least at WMC you get the pools and beachs to recouperate.

I hope it goes well but i can see it struggling for quit some time until it actually becomes like WCM. Plus the Summit Billboards are happening in NYC a few days before and there is that thing happening in SF as well.

We shall see....

well i hope so, but it all depends on how receptive the local promoters are to the event. the conference itself probably won't attract many major djs or performances, probably a lot of industry insiders and boring seminars on software and digital media. i don't really see how a large parade fits into all of it either. i'm just hoping for some good parties before and after the conference
