The Official 2006 NBA Playoffs Thread
Thats right!!!! Playoffs are around the corner and I thought I'd create a thread for this.
So all you NBA fans out there post anything about the playoffs here. The matches arent set up yet..but will be pretty shortly. I dont really see any upsets this first round..I will be suprised if there are. The west I expect all the top 4 teams to beat the bottom 4 teams and in the east..i expect the same.
My finals pick will be : San Antonio vs Detroit...yes its boring but..they are the best on this leauge right now.
Your picks?
Should be great this year..oh and Lebrons first year in the playoffs, lets see what the "King" does..I say he gets knocked out in the second round. Ok im done
ohhh yeah..and I think its time for big sexy rob!!

look for the lakers to upset the suns if they face eachother in the 1st round
First playoffs for Abdur-Rahim, at last.

SPURSS WIN!!
Lebrons first playoff deput was pretty good, so cavs win as well.
Miami wins .and now im watchin the Clippers & Nuggets
I haven't heard Ilgauskas' name once this entire playoffs, and Drew Gooden's only slightly more than that. They also both had solid solid games, I know LeBron had a triple double, but I'm so fucking sick of hearing about "his team" w/o any mention of anybody else but larry hughes even though he's been injured all season.
I have nothing against Lebron who has a great personality. I just hate the media, and it makes the playoff coverage so frustrating. Half of the Washington Post this morning had articles titled "King James" and all that, so f**** annoying.
ILK I STILL LOVE YOU, best center in the East over Shaq and Big Ben.

West:
Spurs in 4, Sac is weak. Over-rated and weak against a better SA team
Mavs in 4, this team is better then you think. That's been the story of Dirks career. How is he not the center of the MVP talks?
Phoenix in 6, god I love Kobe, but I just don't think he can do it. I think this is the series to watch...
Clippers in 6, Brand, another MVP choice.
East:
Detroit in 4. Nuff said
Miami in 4, wade is just too good, and Shaq daddy is playoff king. They were saying he has double the playoff experience of the whole bulls team
Cavs in 5, Arenas is good, but not that good. BTW, Triple double for James, awesome. This kid is for real
Nets in 5, I'd love to see Kidd win a shampionship. Keep dreaming mike, keep dreaming...

what did we learn over the weekend ?
the heat, nets, and suns have got to go back to the drawing board , and figure out what they did wrong in game 1. the heat were practically giving the game to the bulls, but slipped out of that one by luck. the nets lose by 2 to the a very underrated pacers team that can create some havoc, if the right buttons are pushed. the suns also gave that game to the lakers, and got out by luck.
spurs and pistons win by authority.
cleveland and dallas showing some good signs at the moment.
nuggets - clippers should be the biggest nail biter out of all 8 1st round series.

did you guys watch the spurs game last night? that was a good game that went to overtime
Go Lakers, very good effort! I STILL BELIEVE!
Nets look desperate right now. This is a Pacer team that no one wants to face, because they are very sporadic. If Oneal, Peja, and Jackson score 20+ points, watch out. I think the X factor on this team is Danny Granger. If he can play a solid game on the bench, then this team could upset the Pistons in the 2nd round.
Lakers looking solid, and beating the Suns @ Phoenix, swinging the momentum towards the Lakers as they go to LA for games 3,4, and 5.
Heat looked very bad in the 2nd half, as the Bulls take out the Heat easily tonight. Do they Bulls actually have an answer to Shaq ? Tonight's stats include 23 mins, 8 FGAs, 8 points, 7 Turnovers. ouch.
Kings gave it their all last night . Just fell short, as Brent Barry's 3 sent the game to overtime, and then it was textbook from there. Kings should be demoralized right now, as they thought they had that game in the bag in the final seconds.
Cavs-Wizards is a doozy. definate 7 games. Nuggets-Clippers seem to be the game no one cares about. Just think if the Lakers-Clippers meet in the second round. Who would have thunk that ? wtf . mavs and pistons are in cruise control right now.
