really?

well you learn something new everyday.

do they have a website?

also, post any remixes/productions you know from this duo.

hot shit (and just starting to surface in canada) - we're a bit behind. lol

i really like what i've heard from dirty south as well.....

TV Rok is Ivan Gough & Grant Smilie (i don't think the vocalist from Flaunt it is an actual member of the band).

www.tvrock.com.au is their website and www.bimborock.com.au is the site for their label.

I think they did a few bits and pieces before Flaunt it, but Ivan has been producing for 10+ years. Google his name for more info

*vomit emoticon*

'Flaunt It' is not music with those vocals, I wouldn't mind hearing an instumental version tho.

Posted by bec on Apr-17-2006 23:49:

everytime I listen to 'Flaunt It' I just keep waiting for something to happen. It doesn't go anywhere!

TV Rock (and Dirty South) are both coming to Hobart and are playing at the dirtiest bogan teenybopper club. They'll be scarred for life and never want to come back. Needless to say I won't be attending..

Dude, the vocals are total fucking sleaze (and i mean in a good way). Dirty, raunchy, filthy.... equal to the nasty bassline/synth throughout the track..

I have had some luck finding some of their tracks on Soulseek, but was surprised they have next to nothing available on Beatport....

Posted by minski on Apr-18-2006 01:19:

I think theyve mainly stuck to remixing work, seen a fair few songs around in recent years carrying "grant smillie & ivan gough club/dub mix" etc. but I think they only officially needed the name TV Rock when they output their own track.
They definitely have their heads screwed on right, regardless of my wish to never hear flaunt it again after it's played every time i turn on the radio.

Posted by Dean Millson on Apr-18-2006 01:22:

The reason there is nothing on Beatport is that they are signed to a commercial label who would probably not even know that Beatport exists. The track has spent the last 4 weeks sitting at the top of the Australian Record Industry Association cards and they're about as commerical as dance music gets in Australia at the moment so i'd try looking on ITunes etc.

the vocalist is seany b, hes not in tv rock. they have a new single about to come out...i heard smilie say it on the radio the other day.

err yeah that noise he makes like he's clearing his throat after every 2 words makes me really hot.

"This track's designed to make you cream" How about no. The only people this track does that to is the scum at prince.

Posted by Danni on Apr-18-2006 02:22:

Yeah I'm not the biggest fan of the song either, but good on the boys for the success of it! They have both been DJ'ing for many years & its about time they got some serious cha-ching!

Plus I love Ivan as he taught me how to DJ.

Posted by kelsta on Apr-18-2006 02:25:

^ I agree they have done very well, I just can't stand the vocals and like making sure everyone knows that on a daily basis

Posted by Nsonic on Apr-18-2006 03:46:

afaik, TV rock are coming out with an album with a bunch of new tracks. so they're not just remixers (as least, not anymore).

And you know how when you really, really try to put on a deep voice it sounds stupid?
thats what the vocals in Flaunt It are like.

Posted by MiSSyM on Apr-18-2006 03:52:

I saw the video clip to the track last weekend, this SEANY B guy isnt too bad looking! but really I must admit i dont really like the sound of his voice in the song.

Posted by xtractorfan on Apr-18-2006 04:12:

I hate their shit. Agree with kelsta those vocals are designed to make you vomit! Such a shit track. And that other one where the dumb bitch goes on about might liking someone better if she slept with them... i dunno... but its fkn aweful. feel like burning my radio every time it comes on. Have resorted to listening to 3AW as the state of commercial radio is terrible.

Posted by MiSSyM on Apr-18-2006 04:26:

hey 3AW rocks!

Posted by kelsta on Apr-18-2006 04:38:

And where's Philby? I want to discuss with him how rude it is of TV Rock to call themselves after such a lovely substance as ulexite, when they are anything but lovely

Posted by PauLie_C on Apr-18-2006 06:10:

i saw kelsta going nutz to this tune last sat nite at one love, she looked like she was getting rite into it, and nikko was on the podium wearing a pink polo and a tutu doing the seany B moves up on the podium

oh noez

Posted by FiK on Apr-18-2006 07:03:

not a big fan of their productions but whenever i see them out they have the place rocking. pretty solid DJ's

Posted by batemanscott on Apr-18-2006 07:21:

It brings me great shame to admit Vi printed out the lyrics to this and bought the CD, I need a new girlfriend.

Personally i hate track but I think its a great achievment for local boys to produce such a hit with the masses.

Posted by Danni on Apr-18-2006 07:21:

Hell Yeah Ivan has been rocking Melb for as long as I know, Grant is a little cheesy for me though.
