CDJ 800 and 800 mk2 question
I noticed not to long ago the Cdj 800 mk2's came out. Is there a huge difference between the 800's and 800 mk2's. The price has gone way down on the 800's that is why im asking. \
Thanks Much
Nick

the only major difference would be mp3 support but important things like picth accuracy is still the same. I would go for the mkI if the price difference is big....got them and couldnt ask for more
not to be a dick, but this topic has been covered tons of times...
do a search
lol 200 for mp3 support i'll pass.
Yea, aside from some mild aesthetic enhancements and MP3 support, the CDJ800MKII is not worth enough to me to grab.
The original CDJ800 is however near the same price as the Denon DN-S1000, which has roughly the same features plus some fx on top, and yet both units are near $400 US.
I'm pondering grabbing the CDJ800 indeed.

Guys, there aren't any CDJ-800s left ANYWHERE. Unless you find used ones, of course.
Anyway, I like the new features on the mk2. The new display and tighter platter are awesome. mp3, meh, who cares. Useless feature.

I just sold one of my 800s for $450+S&H... I'll be putting the other one up for sale by the end of this week
I just bought some of these baby's - MK2's.
900 for two (450 each which is the going rate for the older discontinued model in the UK at the moment).
They are US imports but they come with some power transformers, the plugs the only difference.
Cant wait!
There is a good comparison at;

I debated this myself for some time and finally decided to go with the mk2. Some of my "real" dj friends told me that the new platter on the mk2 (taken from the cdj 1000s) is a huge improvement for the 800 series. Added mp3 capability and a brigher display and I decided to spring for the mk2.
Pricewise, there wasn't much difference. I like to be as cheap as possible...or better stated I like getting as much as I can for my money (all the while trying to spend the least amount possible). Everyone "says" you can get the older 800s for around $400 US but I was unable to find them for that price. Lowest I could find them was around $475. I got my mk2s for $550, so for the extra $75 I think I got my moneys worth.
For me the mp3 capability is a cool feature. I don't plan on playing out in the clubs, becoming famous, getting gigs whatever. I just enjoy playing music and beat matching/mixing. For me its playtime, it's what I do to unwind. I have an enormous mp3 collection and don't particulary care to spend hours burning them all onto cds. I'll make 5 or 6 mp3 discs and be able to mix for days. To me, that's a coolness factor. To somebody who spins in a different way/different reasons, they may not care so much about the mp3 capability. To each his own, I'm just happy to finally have a set of decks.
Grrr...now I need to find some kind of a monitor to use, NO idea where to start.
