Sneaker Pimp Ecler Nuo-3 vs. Allen&Heath Xone:32

PLEASE COMMENT ON YOUR VOTE!

hard time making desicions. they both have three channels, both have 60mm faders, both are said to have excellent build quality, sound quality.

Pros of Xone32: HP,LP,BP filter, LFO

Pros of Nuo3: FX send/return, balanced out, fader & x-fader curve adjust

whadda ya think folks?

Posted by Xtracktor on Apr-20-2006 13:43:

As much as I like ecler and their nuo series, I believe the best 3 channel mixer still is the xone 32, sound quality, layout, insane filters and even the outputs are some of the reasons why. But why compare the nuo3 with the xone 32 when for the same price you can get a nuo4, and for sure I would go with the nuo4 over a xone 32. The nuo3 has a nice price on it though

I really think the best thing to do is trying them both out and weigh out the pro's and con's against eachother.
Obviously they both have great sound and build quality, so you need to find out the little differences that'll benefit YOU.
Which features will you most likely be using more often.
Which one feels better when working with etc.
I own a Xone:32 myself and really love it, on the other hand not having played with the Nuo stopped me for voting on this poll,
because that wouldn't be fair.
The best advice I can give you is to just 'test-drive' them .

I'm having this decision making headache too... haha.. However our gear shop doesn't carry either of these mixers in stock, so I can't even test drive them to see what I prefer..

Posted by Allied Nations on Apr-20-2006 15:05:

What's the difference in price?

Posted by on Apr-20-2006 15:11:

For me...

$789 32 vs $666 Nuo3

DannyO knows a shop out east that Axe with price match with on the Xone and bring it down about $100... So almost no difference if I did that.

Posted by ZeJayMan on Apr-20-2006 15:12:

I'm having the same dilemma, It's too close for me to call on this one. The only thing I dont like about the 32 is the loose X-fader.

Posted by Events@Spec on Apr-20-2006 16:05:

I voted for norris. But.

32.

Posted by Zild on Apr-20-2006 16:10:

Straight up the Nuo, but I prefer battle mixers, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Axe should have em in stock...they ordered one not long ago

Otherwise, they should also have a NUO5 in stock, which feels/looks very similar..so you can get the idea.

the xone doesn't have a send/return for effects?

Holy.... here in the states the nuo3 is at most 499 and the xone 32 pushes 799-899(retail). The nuo4 is 700-750

300-400 usd difference

Posted by Rememberence_ on Apr-20-2006 18:41:

I own a Xone:32.

It has AUX send, balanced booth and main output, and adjustable crossfader curve.

I got mine brand new in the states for $630 with free shipping.

Nope.. I have never seen any Ecler DJ gear in stock. Especially not the Nuo5 or 3.. If they have brought them in they bring them in one at a time and sell it off quick.

I know that is what they do with Pio products.

I was trying to make the same exact decision recently, and ive decided to go with the nuo-3 for a few reasons:

1) price diff is about $150
2) i plan on mixing a lot with gains, and whatever fucktard designed the 32 by putting the gains in the back deserves a bitch slap.
3) the EQ nobs are nice and big with full cuts.
4) the upfaders on the 32 & 62 have those producer style handles which i dislike.. but a&h improved that with the 92.

The 32 has the obvious advantage with the filters, but i decided i dont really need that right now.. the nuo-3 is gonna be my first mixer.. if i get more advanced then i will just sell it and get the zone 92, hope this helps.

nuo-3 gets my vote.

i would go for the 32w

Actually I find the gains on the back to be perfectly fine, in addition it forces you to judge the correctness of the gain by ear only and not by sight. It does seem kind of a weird design, but it isn't an issue for me. The EQs on the xone allow full kill and are the smoothest I've ever used... and I hate the 92's upfaders compared to the 32's

Posted by bobba lou on Apr-21-2006 02:28:

one of my buddies is selling a xone 62 and a Ecler NUO-5

PM me for details

The 32 doesn't have a full eq cut, only -26db

I voted for Chuck Norris, but I own a 32 and I love it. The filters rock. Its simple, and easy to use, and the best part is its built like a tank and sounds like a harp.

Posted by T-Soma on Apr-21-2006 03:38:

I have a dxm01 ROCK ON! Its pwns the xone and the Nuo...
Ok maybe i was lieing but us poor people dont have these kinds of choices
From what iv read and seen, personally i would go ecler but overall i think chuck wins.

Did you know he actualy lost his virginity before is father did?
